Keith Green - Oh Lord, You're Beautiful

The divine birth.....

Way back in time....before anything....there was GOD.

And there was JESUS.

And there was the HOLY SPIRIT

The three of them are sitting around the most beautiful table you have ever seen..( eyes have not seen)

God the Father is speaking...He says: “I am, through you JESUS, and with the HOLY SPIRIT’S power,
going to make the most beautiful universe you have ever seen...it will hold the sun and the moon and millions of stars and galaxies
and other beautiful things”

And WE are then going to make beings....in our own image!

We will call them humans or mankind!"

God had already created angels, they lived in heaven with Him...

The Bible says there are so many angels, we cannot count them....

Angels are not people....people do not become angels when they die!

One of the most beautiful angels was called Lucifer......

He was in charge but he wanted more....he wanted to be god...

He loved the way all the other angels worshiped and adored God....he wanted that...

That meant he did not want to be obedient to God anymore....to be obedient to God is very important...the Bible tells us...
“Obedience is better than sacrifice”

So, because Lucifer was rebellious, that is called...sinful.....he could not stay in heaven, so he had to leave and one third of the angels left with him.

So, we read in Psalm 8 one of the angels asks God, “What is man, that You are mindful of him?”

Let’s try and imagine, just for a moment, that we can hear and see the angel’s response to what God has just done.

This awesome, mighty, sovereign GOD....has just created the universe out of nothing...He’s put the sun, the moon and the stars in their place...

this awesome God, now comes to this tiny speck, not much bigger than a peppercorn, in the scheme of things, EARTH....and makes, what seems to be a speck of dust....

into the shape of a human being....but what amazes the angel is how GOD is totally focussed on what he is doing!

The Bible tells us...”His thoughts towards us are precious...” Psalm 139

in seeing all this.... His thoughts towards us being precious, I think the angels maybe might have cried out,

“What is this...that You are so fondly affectionate towards?”

What is that tiny little thing...that is constantly on Your mind.....the total focus of Your plan?

Just think.......GOD created all the above.....just for you and me! Just so we could live on this speck....called earth...

The sun is just far enough away to keep us warm....any closer and we’d cook... any further....we’d freeze!

Then it happened....mankind followed the rebellious angel and disobeyed God......fell into sin.....

God said... "We need some one to redeem mankind....some one who is sinless.....

Some one who can repay the debt of sin.......He looked around the big round table...."

Jesus then looked at God, the Father and said...."I’ll go......I will pay the penalty for mankind.....I love them that much I will go to earth, be born as a human baby and restore them...bring them back into fellowship with us”

then He looked at the Holy Spirit and said.... “But I can’t go unless you come with me....You are the one with the power...”

The Holy Spirit said...."Right.....You go on ahead, and when the time is right....I’ll join you on earth.....”

The time had come......all was very quiet in Heaven.......

the angels were holding their breath.....

Jesus was walking down a long........ long corridor......the sides were lined with thousands and thousands of angels....you could have heard a pin drop....

Some mighty big doors opened.........Jesus kept walking........

one minute he was there.......the next he was gone........

The angels looked at each other........

They had a job to do too........they could not say anything till then, but now, they could shout it out!

They descended down to earth and sang and sang.....to shepherds in the fields tending their flocks by night....

Mary and Joseph were in a stable....a baby had just been born.....
Isaiah 9 v 6:

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and his name shall be called Wondeful, Counsellor, The mighty God,The everlasting Father
The Prince of Peace.”

JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!

Luke chapter 1 starting from verse 5:

There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.

And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

But, they did not have any children,, because Elizabeth was barren, and by now, they were both well past the age of ever having children!

As it happened, it was Zacharias’ turn, according to the custom of the priest's office, by lot, to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.

And the whole multitude of the people were praying outside, at the time of incense.

While inside, suddenly, there appeared to Zacharias, an angel of the Lord...who was standing on the right side of the altar of incense,

and when Zacharias saw him, he was scared, he was very frightened indeed..

But the angel said unto him, “Don’t be afraid, Zacharias: for your prayers have been answered; and your wife Elisabeth will give birth to a son, and you shall call him John.

And you shall both will be very happy; and many shall rejoice at his birth.

“For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb, and many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. and he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

But Zacharias said to the angel, “ How can I know you are telling me the truth? I am an old man, and my wife is well past child bearing age!”

Then the angel answering said unto him, “I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to tell you these glad tidings. And now, because you have not believed me and doubted me instead, you will not be able to speak...until the day all these things happen!”

Now, the people who were all waiting for Zacharias, outside, couldn’t understand why he took so long and when he finally did come out

he could not speak to them: so they thought that maybe he had seen a vision in the temple:..... he beckoned to them, but could not speak!!!

So, as soon as he had finished with all that was expected from him, he left to go back to his own house.

And true to the words of Gabriel..... Elisabeth conceived, and she decided to hide herself five months, because, she said,

“So has the Lord dealt with me, in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men".

So..... in the sixth month of Elizabeth's confinement, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin, who was engaged and betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

And the angel came in unto her, and said,

“Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.”

But, when Mary saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and tried to think about what kind of a greeting this was!.

And the angel said unto her,

“Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, you shalt conceive in your womb, and give birth to a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end”.

Then said Mary to the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

And the angel answered and said to her,

“The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. And, behold, your cousin Elizabeth, she has also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. For with God nothing shall be impossible.”

And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to your word.

And the angel departed from her.

And Mary decided then, to go and visit her cousin Elizabeth, and entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.

And it came to pass, that, when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

And she spoke out with a loud voice, and said, “Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord’

And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.

And Mary stayed with Elizabeth, about three months, and returned to her own house. Now Elizabeth's full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son.

And her neighbours and her cousins heard how the Lord had shown great mercy to her; and they were very happy with her.

And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they, the other people, wanted to call him Zacharias, after the name of his father. But his mother answered and said, Not so; he shall be called John.

And they said unto her, There is none of your family that is called by this name. And they made signs to his father, how he would have him called.

And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all.

Then...as soon as he had written down the name John, his dumbness had gone and he praised and honoured the Lord. And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judaea.

And all they that heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, What manner of child shall this be!

And the hand of the Lord was with him.

Lovers of darkness......

My good friend, Dr. David R. Reagan, recently wrote an outstanding article titled, “How Did God Speak Through the Prophets.” He mentioned that the little known prophet, Micaiah, is one of his favorite prophets and he told the story about Micaiah, Ahab and Jehoshaphat (1 Kings 22:1-38).

What Dr. Reagan said is better than anything I can come up with, but his article left me with a thought that I want to try to expand on.

Syria had captured the large city of Ramoth-gilead from the Northern Kingdom called Israel and the wicked Israeli king Ahab wanted it back. He saw the opportunity to get it back when he the godly king Jehoshaphat visited him from the Southern Kingdom called Judah.

While they were talking Ahab asked Jehoshaphat if he would join him in a war against Syria to retake it. In essence, Jehoshaphat said he would, but he wanted Ahab to seek the will of the Lord first.

Ahab called about 400 prophets in (false prophets or prophets who thought their job was to tell the king what he wanted to hear) and they said, “Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.”

This sounded a little suspicious to king Jehoshaphat so he asked king Ahab, “Is there not here a prophet of the Lord besides, that we might inquire of him?” Jehoshaphat wanted God’s opinion not man’s opinion. He wanted the truth whether he liked it or not.

King Ahab replied, “There is one man, Micaiah ...but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.” King Jehoshaphat told king Ahab he shouldn’t say that and to satisfy the good king Jehoshaphat, Ahab sent for the prophet Micaiah.

While they were waiting for Micaiah to arrive, Ahab’s approximately 400 prophets assured him that the Lord would deliver Ramoth-gilead into his hands.

When Ahab’s servant reached Micaiah he told Micaiah what the other prophets said and urged him to “speak that which is good.” That is to say if you want to get along with the king, prophesy good things instead of bad things.

Micaiah’s response was, “As the Lord liveth, what the Lord saith unto me, that will I speak.” His prophecy would be what the Lord says whether it is positive or negative. Skipping down to the end of the story for the sake of getting to the point, Micaiah said to Ahab:“I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd.” He also told Ahab, “the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil concerning thee.”

Four things: 1) Israel would be defeated, 2) Ahab would die, 3) his prophets were lying to him, and 4) God’s judgment was coming instead of God’s blessing.

Micaiah was slapped in the face by one of Ahab’s prophets and he was cast into prison to receive nothing but bread and water until Ahab’s return from the battlefield. Nevertheless, Ahab listened to his lying prophets, Israel was defeated, he was killed and his body was buried in Samaria.

Many people are like Ahab because they don’t want to hear negative prophecy even if it comes from the Lord and even if it is true. And many preachers are like the prophet that slapped Micaiah in the face because they are not preaching the whole counsel of God and they resent those
who are.

Paul told Timothy, “The time will come when they (most church members) will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears” (2 Tim. 4:3).

The time will come when many church members will not listen to everything that is in the Word of God. They will listen to a positive message, but they will not listen to a negative message. They will bring in preachers that say things that make them feel good, but they will not tolerate preachers that say things they don’t want to hear. They will love darkness more than the truth.

Be Still.........and know.......

Be Still
By Donna Wasson

Oh Lord in heaven, this whole earth is going crazy! Everything seems to be out of control and falling apart. Things seem to get worse every week; like some black, vise of evil is being tightened around the hearts of mankind. I realize these must be the end days you talked about Jesus, but I just never really thought I’d live to see such awful things happening.

It’s like the planet is convulsing from the wickedness of man. Growing up, I don’t ever remember hearing about volcanoes blowing up, or this many earthquakes. When those things happened, it was big news because they were so rare. Now, they’re an everyday occurrence!

And even the animals Lord—even the animals are suffering. In the last few years, hundreds of thousands of fish, birds, sea mammals, cattle, deer and other animals have just dropped dead. And the scientists don’t understand why! They try to blame it on climate change but even they don’t seem convinced that’s the answer. God, those are your creatures. It hurts my heart.

Be still.

Be still? How can I sit silently in the face of all these things? Look at what the muslims are doing! They’re trying to take over the world and institute sharia law! These ISIS savages are slaughtering your children, God! They’re running them out of their homes, robbing them of their belongings and raping and selling their women and children as slaves. I can’t imagine the horrors they’ve seen or the fear that grips them, and I feel so helpless! Lord, our own government is assisting these heathens, supplying them with weapons and money…what if they come here?

Be still.

Then there’s the whole Fukushima disaster. No one’s even talking about that anymore, yet all that radiation is still pouring into the Pacific Ocean, poisoning the earth. And it’s spreading to our coastline. The poor sea creatures don’t stand a chance! Oh God, what are we going to do about that? Speaking of poison, our own government sprays chemicals in our airspace every day. What the heck are they raining down on us and why? If we complain, we’re labeled “conspiracy theory nut-cases.”

Be still.

What? What do you mean ‘be still?’

Be still and know that I AM God.

Yeah, I already know that. That’s why I’m talking to you. Oh God…look at the people who are running this country into the ground. Our President and his advisors are all islamic-loving communists. How on earth did this man get elected?! And no one is holding him accountable for anything! The dude is literally a dictator. I really thought that all the new Republicans that are coming into power in January would change things, but I can see that’s not going to happen. The Republican-led committee investigating the whole Benghazi tragedy just gave the administration a pass. No one will have to answer for the deaths of those four Americans!

Eric Holder will never have to answer for Fast and Furious. The IRS scandal will probably fade into history as well, no matter what those emails say. How can this be happening? WHY aren’t these people being arrested for their crimes? And they look at your faithful children and label us as ‘terrorists!’

Everything is upside down, Lord! Black is white, good is evil and evil is now good. Christians everywhere are being targeted in one way or another. Even here, in the land of the free and the home of the brave, we’re under assault by the militant, hate-filled sodomites who are hell-bent on running us out of business. God, the Fire Chief in Atlanta has just been suspended for writing a book in which he defends YOUR values on marriage. He stated that homosexuality and bed hopping is vile, vulgar and inappropriate, and the city suspended him for a month! It’s outrageous!

Be still and know that I AM God.

Yes Lord, that’s very nice. I know you’re God. Oh yeah, look at what’s going on with Israel! This President hates your people and goes out of his way to denigrate and show utter contempt for them while he does everything he can to lift up their enemies. He’s trying to pressure them to split Jerusalem, for crying out loud! Even these Laodicean churches here in America are jumping on the let’s-all-spit-at-Israel band wagon. How much more can your chosen people take, Lord?

The muslims are running them down in the streets with their cars. They sneak into their homes and slaughter whole families. They pelt them with rocks every chance they get, and oh…they won’t even ‘allow’ the Jews to pray on their own Temple Mount! It’s THEIR Temple Mount, God! It’s insane! Doesn’t this make your blood boil? When Lord, are you going to wipe islam off the face of the earth?

Be still.

But God…

Shhhh! BE STILL! Be still and know that I AM God: I WILL be exalted among the heathen, I WILL be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10

But it seems like they’re winning! I know you’re God and I trust you’re in control. Umm, you ARE in control, right? Because sometimes it doesn’t look like it. Just sayin.’

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, ‘Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.’ He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Psalm 2:1-5

But God, it’s all so wrong, so terrible, and it’s getting worse! I’m scared.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, thought he earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. Psalm 46:1-3

*Sigh* Father, it seems like everything, people, animals, trees, even the whole world is so weary. I know I am. I’m weary of living in such a sin-sick society. I’m tired of being subjected to filth. I’m tired of all the injustice, all the death, all the sickness. I’ve had enough of the sorrow and disappointments of this life. I can sense the spiritual darkness growing thicker every day, like a blanket smothering the earth.

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Romans 8:22-23

Yeah. Groaning. That sure describes it. I too am groaning in pain, waiting to leave this wretched place.

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:18

Oh, I know that’s true, Lord. I believe your word. I just get tired of waiting, especially as I see things falling apart more and more. And you know one of the most frustrating parts of all this? I try to talk to other people about what’s happening around us, and they look at me like I’m crazy. Even other Christians accuse me of ‘date setting,’ and throw the old ‘no one knows the day or the hour’ scripture at me.

I’m not trying to date set! After all, you’re the one who commanded us to be watching and waiting. You said that you would come at a time when no one was expecting and you didn’t want us to be caught by surprise. That’s what I’m trying to do, but I get so much flak from my family and friends! Am I wrong for comparing current world events to what you said would be happening in the end days?

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying ‘Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fall asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.’

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 2 Peter 3:3-4, 13, 14, 17

Oh God, thank you for reminding me that the mocking is happening exactly as you said it would. Amazing! How can they not see what’s right in front of their faces? How can they be so blind to the signs of the times?

Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow. The sower soweth the word. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, and the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. Mark 4:3, 14, 18-19

Gotcha. That certainly seems to be the case with these worldly Christians, doesn’t it? God, when will this all be over with? When will you come get us? I don’t know how much longer I can hang on.

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. Luke 21:28

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season, we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9

Well God, I’m certainly not going to give up now. I’m just tired. Please give me your strength, joy and peace to face these days. It’s no fun here and I want to go home. Please don’t delay or tarry. Your Bride wants to be with her Groom.

He which testifieth these things saith, ‘Surely I come quickly.’ Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Revelation 22:20

Yes, Lord. A big amen to that!
Remember...Be still.

Remember Lot's wife....!

There are few warnings in Scripture more solemn than this.

The Lord Jesus Christ says to us, "Remember Lot's wife."

Lot's wife was a professor of religion: her husband was a "righteous man" (II Peter 2:8).

She left Sodom with him, on the day when Sodom was destroyed; she looked back towards the city from behind her husband,
against God's express command; she was struck dead at once, and turned into a pillar of salt.

And the Lord Jesus Christ holds her up as a beacon to His church: He says, "Remember Lot's wife."

It is a solemn warning, when we think of the person Jesus names.

He does not bid us remember Abraham.........or Isaac........... or Jacob...........

or Sarah.......... or Hannah..... or Ruth........

No: He singles out one whose soul was lost for ever. He cries to us, "Remember Lot's wife."

In the days of Abraham and Lot, true, saving religion, was scarce upon earth;

there were no Bibles,

no ministers,

no churches,

no tracts,

no missionaries.

The knowledge of God was confined to a few favoured families;

the greater part of the inhabitants of the world were living in darkness...... ignorance.......

superstition, and sin.

Not one in a hundred perhaps had such good example, such spiritual society, such clear knowledge, such plain warnings as Lot's wife.

Compared with millions of her fellow-creatures in her time, Lot's wife was a favoured woman.

She had a godly man for her husband: she had Abraham, the father of the faithful for her uncle, by marriage.

The faith, the knowledge, and the prayers of these two righteous men could have been no secret to her.

It is impossible that she could have dwelt in tents with them for any length of time, without knowing whose they were and whom they served.
Religion with them was no formal business; it was the ruling principle of their lives and the mainspring of their actions. All this Lot's wife must have seen and known. This was no small privilege.

It is a solemn warning, when we consider the subject Jesus is upon.
He is speaking of His own second coming to judge the world: He is describing the awful state of unreadiness in which many will be found. The last days are on His mind, when He says,

"Remember Lot's wife."

It is a solemn warning, when we think of the Person who gives it.

The Lord Jesus is full of love, mercy, and compassion:

He is One who will not break the bruised reed nor quench the smoking flax.

He could weep over unbelieving Jerusalem, and pray for the men that crucified Him;

yet even He thinks it good to give this solemn warning and remind us of lost souls. Even He says, "Remember Lot's wife."

It is a solemn warning, when we think of the persons to whom it was first given. The Lord Jesus was speaking to His disciples:

He was not addressing the Scribes and Pharisees who hated him..............

but Peter, James, and John, and many others who loved Him: yet even to them He thinks good to address a caution. Even to them He says, "Remember Lot's wife."

It is a solemn warning, when we consider the manner in which it was given. He does not merely say, "Beware of following..........or......take heed of imitating.......or.....do not be like Lot's wife."

He uses a different word: He says, "Remember" He speaks as if we were all in danger of forgetting the subject; He stirs up our lazy memories; He bids us keep the case before our minds. He cries, "Remember Lot's wife."

Are you a scoffer?

Esau sold his birth-right for a pot of stew! ( Gen 25 v 29-34) "And Jacob boiled pottage. And Esau came in from the field, and he was faint. And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage . For I am faint. Therefore was his name called Edom. And Jacob said, “Sell me first thy birth-right.”
And Esau said, “Behold, I am about to die. And what profit shall the birth-right do to me?”
And Jacob said, “Swear to me first.”
And he sware unto him. And he sold his birth-right unto Jacob. And Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentils. And he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way. So Esau despised his birth-right.

You have a birth-right!!!!

Now.....as it often happens, an angry person will blame everything that happened on every body else, but never himself.

Esau claims it was in Jacob's character to deceive people.

The truth is that only Jacob's name means deceiver.

Jacob was a reluctant participant in these events. Esau also claimed that Jacob stole his birth-right.

But, the truth is, that Esau sold it for a bowl of bean soup.

Esau also claimed that Jacob stole his blessing. However, the blessing was not his in the first place since God had said it belonged to Jacob. How can someone steal what was already his?

Satan wants your soul........you can let him have it.....you don’t have to sell it to him for a pot of stew,....how? By ignoring God and Jesus,

by default.....you have given your soul to him.

Unless you repent and accept Jesus as your personal Saviour, by default, you have accepted satan.

Whether you believe it or not, there is a heaven and there is a hell....and we go to either one.....

or the other......Biblically, that is how it is.

As we get closer to the end of the age, there is a spiritual battle ongoing for the hearts and minds of people being waged, with an intensity unlike any in history.

The Television shows are saturated with pretend Christian messages that state all kinds of false, but reasonable sounding counterfeit alternatives to salvation.

If you watch family-values oriented entertainment, you will learn that when people die, they become angels and come back and help other people. ( not true)

You can also tune into TV 'evangelists' to learn how to buy your way into heaven (by sending payments directly to them). ( also not true)

You see, we are going to see more and more of these kinds of things.....The Bible predicts it....The Word of God says...

“that ("in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires" 2 Peter 3 v 3)

I watched an interview yesterday, the young man said he was an agnostic. So the question was to him,

“Do you have any morals?” he replied that, yes he did.

Next question was, “Where do your morals come from?” He did not know.....
.

next question, “Do you think they might have come from a higher being, a creator?”

He thought that was a possibility.....he then decided he would believe in a “higher being, a creator” but an impersonal one.

He did not think it was wrong to steal,

to commit adultery.....

to tell lies.........up to a point!!!!

All I get from a conversation like that is..... “I will agree with you....up to a point........

but as soon as it conflicts with my desires, my wants, my likes.....I will then disagree”

He had committed all the above, by his own admission.

I hope and pray your soul belongs to Jesus, if not yet, then I ask you to repent and ask Jesus to be your Lord and Saviour.....then ask the Lord to help you to understand and read the gospel of John.

Do..."You" know Him???

“God bless this mess I've made”
doesn't work.

“God forgive and wipe clean this mess I've made,” does, as we repent.

During a daily conversation with a fellow believer and a dear friend who is looking for our Blessed Hope every second, she stated to me, after yet another harrowing day of bad news and headlines, “I am so weary of the troubles of this world. It doesn’t even seem real now. To me, Heaven is MORE real than life on this earth.”

So profoundly true. I feel many believers in Jesus Christ are feeling this way now as we watch the world spiral downward and see things we never thought would happen. The longing for our permanent home becomes more real, more tangible, more desirable and almost unbearable. We yearn to finally, finally be home with our Lord who has gone and prepared our place for us. We dream about thanking Him for suffering and dying in OUR place, for OUR sins.

How we look forward to celebrating His resurrection with Him. We cannot wait to finally bow at His feet and worship His name and sing His praises. He IS our Savior. He IS our Lord. He IS our security. He is MORE real than this world.

Do you know Him?

Do your friends and loved ones know Him?

If you invite Jesus to be the Lord of your life, and walk daily with Him, repent of your sins and seek His Face, your name is written in His Book of Life and your destiny is to be with Him in the safety and security of His loving arms for all of eternity! Security is THAT simple! And knowing your eternity is secure in Jesus Christ is pure bliss. There is no other word for it. It is lockdown. It is a done deal.

Time is running out. Maybe you have heard this before, but the Bible promises that Jesus will return to this earth and the signs that we are to look for are blaring at us like a freight train tearing down the tracks. The yellow light is just about to blink to red and your eternity will become written in stone. Are you ready? Is your eternal security intact?

I feel a sense of urgency like never before. I feel like I have very little time to wrap up the loose ends of the things God has given me to accomplish before He sends Jesus to take His followers out of this world. It almost seems like God is wrapping things up too, doesn’t it?

Every chance I get to witness to someone I care for is an enormous relief—one step closer, to the reward of Heaven that God has promised His children. It is hard to explain, but if you are watching and listening for Jesus, you know what I mean. We have gotten to that point now. We have disconnected. We have let it go. Heaven IS more real than what is being dealt to us by the prince of this world (Satan). It is the reason for our indifference and our discontent with our earthly abode.
Thank you Camilla Smith. (From Rapture ready)

The smell of rain......

Deuteronomy 33:27, “The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms”
__________

A cold March wind danced around the dead of night in Dallas as the doctor walked into the small hospital room of Diana Blessing. Still groggy from surgery, her husband David held her hand as they braced themselves for the latest news.

That afternoon of March 10, 1991, complications had forced Diana, only 24-weeks pregnant, to undergo an emergency cesarean to deliver the couple's new daughter, Danae Lu Blessing.

At 12 inches long and weighing only one pound and nine ounces, they already knew she was perilously premature.

Still, the doctor's soft words dropped like bombs. 'I don't think she's going to make it', he said, as kindly as he could. "There's only a 10-percent chance she will live through the night, and even then, if by some slim chance she does make it, her future could be a very cruel one."

Numb with disbelief, David and Diana listened as the doctor described the devastating problems Danae would likely face if she survived. She would never walk, she would never talk, she would probably be blind, and she would certainly be prone to other catastrophic conditions from cerebral palsy to complete mental retardation, and on and on.

"No! No!" was all Diana could say. She and David, with their 5-year-old son Dustin, had long dreamed of the day they would have a daughter to become a family of four.
Now, within a matter of hours, that dream was slipping away. Through the dark hours of morning as Danae held onto life by the thinnest thread, Diana slipped in and out of sleep, growing more and more determined that their tiny daughter would live-and live to be a healthy, happy young girl.

But David, fully awake and listening to additional dire details of their daughter's chances of ever leaving the hospital alive, much less healthy, knew he must confront his wife with the inevitable.

David walked in and said that we needed to talk about making funeral arrangements.... Diana remembers
'I felt so bad for him because he was doing everything, trying to include me in what was going on, but I just wouldn't listen, I couldn't listen.'

I said, "No, that is not going to happen, no way! I don't care what the doctors say; Danae is not going to die! One day she will be just fine, and she will be coming home with us!"

As if willed to live by Diana's determination, Danae clung to life hour after hour, with the help of every medical machine and marvel her miniature body could endure.

But as those first days passed, a new agony set in for David and Diana.

Because Danae's under-developed nervous system was essentially 'raw,' the lightest kiss or caress only intensified her discomfort, so they couldn't even cradle their tiny baby girl against their chests to offer the strength of their love.

All they could do, as Danae struggled alone beneath the ultraviolet light in the tangle of tubes and wires, was to pray that God would stay close to their precious little girl. There was never a moment when Danae suddenly grew stronger.

But as the weeks went by, she did slowly gain an ounce of weight here, and an ounce of strength there.

At last, when Danae turned two months old, her parents were able to hold her in their arms for the very first time, And two months later-though doctors continued to gently but grimly warn that her chances of surviving, much less living any kind of normal life, were next to zero. Danae went home from the hospital, just as her mother had predicted.

Today, five years later, Danae is a petite but feisty young girl with glittering gray eyes and an unquenchable zest for life. She shows no signs, what so ever, of any mental or physical impairment. Simply, she is everything a little girl can be and more-but that happy ending is far from the end of her story.......

One blistering afternoon in the summer of 1996 near her home in Irving, Texas, Danae was sitting on her mother's lap in the bleachers of a local ballpark where her brother Dustin's baseball team was practicing.

As always, Danae was chattering non-stop with her mother and several other adults sitting nearby when she suddenly fell silent.

Hugging her arms across her chest, Danae asked, "Do you smell that?" Smelling the air and detecting the approach of a thunderstorm, Diana replied, "Yes, it smells like rain." Danae closed her eyes and again asked, "Do you smell that?" Once again, her mother replied, "Yes, I think we're about to get wet, it smells like rain."

Still caught in the moment, Danae shook her head, patted her thin shoulders with her small hands and loudly announced, "No, it smells like Him. It smells like God when you lay your head on His chest."

Tears blurred Diana's eyes as Danae then happily hopped down to play with the other children.

Before the rains came, her daughter's words confirmed what Diana and all the members of the extended Blessing family had known, at least in their hearts, all along. During those long days and nights of her first two months of her life, when her nerves were too sensitive for them to touch her, God was holding Danae on His chest and it is His loving scent that she remembers so well.

The heavenly Father’s arms never tire of holding His children.

I listen to Ray Comfort a lot, and he and Kirk Cameron do a lot of talking to people on the street.
The 3 questions they nearly always ask are these:

1) Have you ever told a lie?

2) Have you ever stolen something?

3) Have you ever looked at some one with lust in your heart?

Mostly the answers he gets, (if they are honest....)is YES

website: here

So, what I was wondering is ...is any one of the above worse then the other? In my mind sin is sin.....

We read in Corinthians (1 Cor:6 v 9 - 11) Paul speaking:

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God? Be not deceived: Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor the effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners shall inherit the Kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But ye are washed, ye are sanctified, ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

It is quite a list......and one item is no worse than any other...they are all equal in God’s eyes. They are all unrighteous.....

So any “yes” answer to the above 3 questions... is just as bad as any “yes” answer to the list that Paul makes. And Paul even explains... “And such were some of you”

But Paul then further says..... “But ye are washed....ye are sanctified.....ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God”

There is always hope for us to be set free through Christ Jesus, no matter what the bondage...

Joshua and the battle of Jericho.....

Joshua ch 6:
The Lord God told Joshua: “See, I have given into your hand Jericho, and the king thereof and the mighty men of valour. And you shall surround the city, all the men of war, and go round about the city once. This shall you do for 6 days. And 7 priests shall bear before the ark a trumpet each, a trumpet made of rams’ horns;

and the 7th day they shall surround the city 7 times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. And it shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.”

So, Joshua called the priests and said unto them, “Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the Lord.”

And he said unto the people, “Pass on, and surround the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the Lord.”

And so they did, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the 7 priests bearing the 7 trumpets of rams’ horns passed on before the Lord and blew with the trumpets; and the ark of the covenant of the Lord followed them.

And the armed men went on front of the priests, who blew with the trumpets, and the men of war, came after the ark, the priests going on and blowing with the trumpets. And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, “ You may not make any noise at all....no talking, no shouting... not until I tell you to......Then you can shout.....

So the ark of the Lord, and all the army came the city, going about it once; and they came back into the camp and lodged in the camp.

And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the Lord. And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the Lord went on continually and blew with the trumpets; and the armed men went before them, but the rearward came after the ark of the Lord, the priests going on and blowing with the trumpets.

And the second day they compassed the city once and returned into the camp.
So they did six days.

And it came to pass on the seventh day that they rose early, about the dawning of the day, Only on that day they compassed the city seven times. And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, “Shout! For the Lord hath given you the city. And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all who are therein, to the Lord. Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.

Have you noticed anything here?

The Lord God told Joshua what to do, but......Joshua did NOT tell the people the whole story.
Joshua only told them what to do....one day at a time.....
The Lord knew........and Joshua knew...... but the people did not.......

How often does that happen with us.......?
The Lord knows.......but we do not!

What if.......

what if the people had said say, after day 4......”Come on Joshua, where is this going to get us? We are not going to keep going....this is not funny!”

How often have we, if not said it, then at least thought it....”Come on Lord.....where is this going to get me......I am stopping....nothing is happening.....

Thankfully, the people did not say anything....we don’t know what they might have been thinking, but nothing was said, and by the 7th day....I am sure, they mudt have thought....”Man, am I glad I did not say anything.....
as on the 7th day....it all happened...... the walls came tumbling down......
Wait on the Lord.......and your walls will also come tumbling down!
Thank You Susan...

Mathew 13.....

And there were gathered unto him great multitudes, so that he entered into a boat, and sat; and all the multitude stood on the beach.

And he spake to them many things in parables,

saying, Behold, the sower went forth to sow;

and as he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the birds came and devoured them:

and others fell upon the rocky places, where they had not much earth: and straightway they sprang up, because they had no deepness of earth: and when the sun was risen, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

And others fell upon the thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked them:

and others fell upon the good ground, and yielded fruit, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

He that hath ears, let him hear."

And the disciples came, and said unto him, “Why speakest thou unto them in parables?”

And he answered and said unto them, “Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.”

Jesus is speaking to a “great multitude” here.

He knows....they only came to see His miracles.

I can remember at least 20 years ago, we went to a church service where there was a member of this church who was in a wheel chair....There were quite a few people who only ever came to that church when there was a special service and prayer were had for those who needed it.

Often, this young man in the wheel chair would go forward for healing.

He was so desperate to have the use of his legs again.....

But that miracle never happened while we were there.

Joni Erickson never got healed either....We don’t know why the Lord will or will not heal some people. I know Joni made use of her disability, and she brings people to Christ.

I don’t know if this other young man does the same or not....we moved away.

But my point is, these people who only came..... when there was a special service and prayers for those who needed it......only came.....to see a miracle.

Jesus saw their hearts and “knew” why they were there.

Jesus talks about seeds falling by the wayside.......

He did not go and pick them up and put them in fertile soil.....no!

He talks about seeds falling on rocky grounds......He did not rescue them, either.....

He talks about seeds falling among the thorns....he did nothing there either.....

none of the above got any attention.....he did not go and fertilize them or water them....he just left them.....

The same goes for people......

He will do the right thing,

but.......if their hearts are not open to “hear” what He is telling them, rocky, shallow, dry ground, then the seed of the word will not grow.....

so we should not think that....

”Right now I don’t have the time to follow Jesus I will do it later....”

that could be rocky ground.......or fallen by the way side.....or in the thorns......He does not go and chase them up......

so....later....could be too late!

The seed that falls on good ground, fertile ground, those seeds will be watered by the Holy Spirit, and yield fruit...some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

He who has ears to hear will hear!

Biblical characters....

It’s great to take heart from the Scriptures when reading about biblical characters such as
Noah,

Moses,

Elijah

Jeremiah.
and others......

Great men of God as they were, I’m sure that there must have been times when they wondered if they’d heard God correctly.

In their own understanding they probably viewed the challenges they faced as almost insurmountable.

They had to stand up and confront the popular and distasteful culture of the day,

enduring trials along the way......

However, they trusted God.

They believed and took Him at his Word.
They did not have the whole Bible like we do.....today! Yet......

Today, there is so much contention about what God is supposed to be saying in His written Word. People write books and say they have coversations with God....would that not be like saying....

"Well, God said this to me and said to write it all down...."
to me that is adding to God's word.....

There is enough in the Bible....God's word....and He tells us we are not to add or take away from His Word...

So......are they really hearing from God?

I can’t help being reminded that casting such doubts originally began with the evil one when he tempted Eve with those words, “Did God really say … ?”

Pre-Rapture Commentary: What Happened to “Repentance?”

“I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3, 5)

“Repentance (metanoia, ‘change of mind’) involves a turning with contrition from sin to God; the repentant sinner is in the proper condition to accept the divine forgiveness.” (F. F. Bruce. The Acts of the Apostles [Greek Text Commentary’ London: Tyndale 1952 p. 97)
Repentance:
I.                to change one’s mind, i.e. to repent
II.             to change one’s mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one’s past sins
Amend (II):
alter, adjust, modify, revise, improve, change, correct, make changes..........

Psalm 51....a psalm by David

Restore unto me the joy of my salvation

the word SALVATION means= Preservation or deliverance from destruction, difficulty, or evil.
b. A source, means, or cause of such preservation or deliverance.
This joy, ......gladness, is not happiness that depends on our circumstances and our moods;
which has to do with our emotions or station in life.

This joy is something that is constant; ......it is from within us because He lives within.

One can have the same joy in terrible circumstance, that they would have when all is well, the same attitude of being on the mountain top when they are in the valley.

And....it was obvious that due to what David had done......(this is when he had Uriah killed and got Bathsheba pregnant) that he had lost the Joy of the Lord.

He might even have thought he’d lost his salvation as he asks “Restore unto me the joy of my salvation, and renew a right spirit within me".

Jesus makes two particular statements about joy for us....
in John 15:11: "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.”

John 17:13-14: "But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. "I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.”

For now, this joy involves faith....
1 Pet. 1:8-9: “whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith-- the salvation of your souls.”

Precious book

Though the cover is worn and the pages are torn,

and though places bear traces of tears,

yet more precious than gold is this book worn and old,
that can shatter and scatter my fears.

When I prayerfully look in this precious old book,as my eyes scan the pages I see:

many tokens of love from the father above, who is nearest and dearest to me.

This old book is my guide, tis a friend by my side, it will lighten and brighten my way.
And each promise I find soothes and gladdens my mind, as I read it and heed it today.

Whatever you have to sacrifice, what ever priorities you have to rearrange, read your bible every day!

Noah's ark....

I was watching a t.v.show last night. A lady was going to go where “they say” Noah’s ark landed on the mountain of Ararat.

She is not a Christian and “this is how the world sees it”

She arrived in a small village in Turkey and the guide there points her to a very, very large stone with a hole in the top and tells her Noah had this hanging from the ark.

He explains that….when the animals moved to one side of the ark, Noah would hang the large rock, on a very thick rope, on the opposite side of the ark, so as to keep the balance and the ark would not topple over….(yea…right)

This rock was so large, she could not make her self tall enough, even on tippy toe, to look through the hole, because, her guide told her, if you look through the hole in the large rock, (at least 6feet tall) you can see MT Ararat.

So the camera man obliged and the camera, us, looked through the hole and yes, we could see the snow covered mountain.

She then had a small boat, made out of paddlepop sticks….had a piece of clay, that she had brought with her from England, put a hole in it, tied a piece of string to it, then hung it from her little paddlepop stick boat…Oh, I might add, she called the stone “holy” the mountain was holy, everything was holy.( I at first thought she meant the stone was holey, because it had a hole in it?

But when she called everything else holy as well, I guess I was wrong) But I digress…..She then said….
.
”When Noah saw mt Ararat, he got a big knife, and some one helped him cut the rope, and the stone dropped to the ground, and that is how it got here… amazing isn’t it?

What the Bible says:
Genesis 7 v 18-20; And the waters prevailed, and increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.
And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high mountains that were under the whole heaven were covered. Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

Twice it says that the mountains were covered…
Now….......how do you suppose Noah found the mountain Ararat when all the mountains were covered?

Besides in Chapter 8 we read: verse 4: And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. Upon the Mountains…plural…not one mountain..... but the mountain range called "Ararat," like we have the mountain range called “The Liverpool range” part of our blue mountains, it’s not a mountain called Liverpool.

Still wonder how people get the wrong impression as to exactly “what” the Bible says? And, to make it sound even better, they ignore what God wants to convey to them, but put in their own meanings and translations and say, God must have meant this…or that….but unless we ask the guidance from the Holy Spirit to help us understand the Bible…God’s word, and we ask Him, we will never understand it..... as we see it through our own sinful eyes and thoughts and mind.

It's in the blood!!!

I remember when I was first born-again and I thought to myself about being covered in the blood of Jesus Christ. It is true, it is the ONLY way for our sins to be forgiven of us, by a loving God. Yet a God who demands perfection, even in you and me. For a moment, please place yourself in my shoes, having worked for almost fifty years in the medical field.

I have been in the emergency rooms, and explored the awful effects of many accidents; some big while others not so much. I have held a beating human heart in my hand and have worked to force blood around the body, as a cardiovascular surgeon works feverishly to close a hole in it. I have literally been covered in blood a few times. Thus, when I consider being covered in the blood of Jesus Christ, I have a slightly different concept of that particular issue.

For a moment I would like to pause on that thought and look at something else, that in conjunction with the above has a correlation. We often, in our own ignorance or the tension of the moment, forget to see something else that is most important.

Take a few minutes and read the Word of God in Genesis 3, where in a space of a few moments God declared the death of Adam and Eve for their sinful disobedience to Him. It took only a few moments for Adam and Eve to defy God and listen to the subtle words of Satan and eat of the forbidden fruit.

Few ever come to a realization of what God was actually saying to Adam and Eve. Just Prior to Adam and Eve eating of the forbidden fruit, they were perfect human beings in every way. There was no problem with famines, droughts, disease or any other imperfection in them, but in those few moments, God declared they would die.

So then the question would be, “Would they simply fall over dead?” No! Otherwise there would be no population growth of any kind, but their life spans would diminish greatly, their lives would be filled with hardship and pain. Their offspring would deal with the same for as long as they would bear more children. In essence, they were doomed to a variety of problems, that at times would seem too great and unbearable. And it all took only a matter of moments. Simple moments in time, that changed the very nature of the universe.

Isaiah 53:5: “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

As Jesus walked to Golgotha, as they drove the spikes in his hands and feet.......
HE never once was concerned with Himself, there was NO, “It's all about ME!” As He hung there, his hands and feet tearing, it was the weight of the sin of the world that was pulling Him down and causing His great pain and suffering, Our sin! Jesus Christ knew every single disaster and difficulty we would ever endure rested on His shoulders. His tears were for you and me! (“Why Father...won’t they listen?”)

Leviticus 17:11: “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.”

Leviticus 17:13-14: “And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust. For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.”

Have you ever noticed, it is most difficult to get blood off of you? Get it in your clothing, you might as well throw it out, it is stained for good.
Does this hit you anywhere?...... Stained!

Now take a moment and tell me the Lord does not work in unusual ways!

The Lord knows what makes up blood..... and HE uses this in a myriad of ways to get our attention.

There are signs everywhere of the things that He decides are worthy for you and me to learn, and this is on a daily basis. So then the question is this:

“Why are we so dull-minded and ignorant of these things?”

As I stated before, I have been covered in blood a few times and it is literally a pain to get rid of it. At least a few long bathes to do so, because it gets in all the nooks and crannies. Blood is a liquid of extremely unusual properties; it literally will stick to everything. Now do you understand why the Word of God, uses the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross, in the manner that it does?

Since the days of Adam and Eve, there has never been a more strange and unusual entity than blood! I say “entity” because blood is unique unto itself; there is no other entity like it in the entire universe. It is, as the Bible says, the lifeline of everything that lives.

Has it never occurred to you, that all bacteria and Viruses, attack the Blood?

Death is not just falling over dead, it can be a strung out affair, for sure! Look at cancer; it requires us to administer toxic chemicals into the blood to control it. Everything wrong with you and me can be traced back to a situation with our blood. Why do you think physicians order so many blood tests? Absolutely everything necessary is there!

One must then see all disease as blood-borne. All disease leaves a footprint in our blood, that then makes you wonder why sin is so horrible. Everything, to include our sin, leaves its mark in our blood, STDs of every sort, right up to AIDS, cancer, heart disease, all of it.

And then when we read about Jesus Christ on the cross, covering our sin with His blood, it takes on a whole different viewpoint. Blood to blood, His to ours has a totally different effect. Human blood to human blood could very well kill us, can give us a new disease and even deform us to some extent. The saving grace, the love of the Lord for you and me, is in His blood.

John 3:16:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

I lost a dear friend......

I had a dear friend who recently died from breast cancer.

She is often on my mind because....she believed that everybody would eventually be saved and go to heaven.
We had our discussions and she was adamant she was right!

What I could not get through to her was that it does not matter what “WE” think, it’s what God’s will is,
according to His Word, the Bible.

We are sinful and fail at every turn.

She did not believe that either, she was also sure that people are “good” ( which a lot of people think.)
So I asked her, “If we all go to heaven eventually, why did Jesus have to come in the flesh and then, have to die on the cross.?”
I am convinced that Jesus died in my place and that He came in the flesh so He could also die to the flesh, which I cannot do.
My flesh keeps rearing up again and again.

Even though I tried to tell her that we sin, every day, (she agreed with that)and the Bible tells us “the wages of sin are death” (Romans 6 v 23) I asked her had she done any reading from the Old Testament?
She said, “No, she was mainly in the New testament”

So I then showed her in the book of Genesis ch 15 where God made a covenant with Abraham. This is a little hard to understand but as I see it (and please check it yourself to see if it fits)
verse 17 tells me “And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold, a smoking furnace, and a flaming torch that passed between these pieces.”
From what I understand this was a ceremonial way of confirming a covenant which lasted for ever....smoking fire pot and a flaming torch. Symbols of God’s presence with Israel on their way to the Promised Land (Ex. 13:21;).(Pillar of cloud by day/fire by night to lead them) passed between these pieces.

(As other ancient Near Eastern texts and Jer. 34:18 indicate,
by passing between the torn animals (signifying the punishment due those who break the covenant) God invokes a oath or curse upon Himself should He fail to keep His covenant. Because He can swear by no higher authority, God swears by Himself to keep the covenantal terms.)

This covenant is still on going! It is not just with Abraham, if it was it would have died with him, it is with his seed as well and eventually Christ, and by adoption we are also part of that seed, because we have accepted Christ as our saviour, and He died for all our sins...

So she then said, “Well, what about “the elect?” that are so often mentioned in the Bible?”
So again I tried to explain that “we” are all the elect. Everybody is!!!
There is not a special group that is “the elect” I told her I left a church because that was what they taught, and no where does it say so in God’s word!.

John 3 v 16 clearly states “God so loved the “world” with this word “World” we all know God means all the people...right?”
She agreed.....
Then her biggest fear, “Well, what about hell, God sends people to hell....how can he do that?”

So I then tried to explain to her that...... “God does not send people to hell....” they decide for themselves where they go....God has given us all a free will so we can decide for ourselves who to follow......

God made hell for the devil and his angels because they rebelled against God......not for humans!

“Then,” she said, “ What about the stuff churches tell you you “have to do” in order to be “saved”
So I told her, “Well, actually, once you have accepted Jesus as your personal Saviour, that’s it!
You do not have to do anything more and if “they tell you that you do......

well..... that was a lie. But now we have discovered the truth!

The lie was substituted for love......... shame and performance are not part of the good news.

God loves us and sent His Son to be our hope. He has provided all that we need “for life and godliness.”
What the Father has done for us in Jesus is enough. We are not condemned and no longer need to live in fear, shame, and inadequacy. Jesus is our hope, our righteousness, our life. The truth has set us free.

The devil wants as many humans as possible, (because they are made in God’s image and he hates, no loathes them) to come with him, and hence he tries to deceive them.
We get plenty of warnings from God in His book, the Bible, about how much of a deceiver and liar and traitor this devil is, we just need to trust in God through Jesus, and listen to Him, for us to do the right thing.

The thing is....if you do not follow one.......then by default you follow the other.
And as C.S.Lewis said.....”The devil will get people to say and do anything.... to make you believe that he does not exist!” But he does!!!

For example.....during WW2.... No one spoke up, when Hitler decided to put all those restrictions on the Jews, so he got away with it......he then put more restrictions on them....no one said anything.....it happened and again, no one said anything.... Hitler then decided that the Jews were not really people, but vermin, so he decided to exterminate them, he did,
a lot of them....
If people had spoken up.....and if enough of them had, this would not have happened! So, by saying nothing......not speaking up......by default..... they agreed, with him,and Hitler did his dastardly deeds.

Hitler was also into the occult and worshiped satan.....which is where he probably got all his ideas from...again satan wanted to get rid of God’s people, because they were made in God’s image...hate is a terrible thing.
And of course we need faith, and faith is like a muscle, the more we use it, the stronger it becomes, but it also works in the opposite, the less we use it, the weaker it becomes!

We often had discussions like this, but.....she’s gone now, and as I said, I often wonder where she is right now!

Day light saving finished this weekend.

And I am so glad that it has.....

Don't get me wrong....I love daylight saving all through summer, but.....
our days are not like they are in the northern hemisphere.....early light and long days and short nights.

Our days, even in summer, with daylight saving are still short.....the longest day and it is practically dark by 8.30pm.
The mornings are light early, hence day light saving was introduced, quite a few years ago.....

Oh, there were the usual arguments against it....funny really...like the curtains would fade with more sunshining on them longer...that kinda thing....
I love the early mornings....have always been an early riser.....but.....as we drift into autumn, the days are getting shorter so
daylight saving was not really working now, this late into April...We had to switch on the lights in the mornings, as well as later in the evenings...defeating it's purpose.
I was in Europe a few years ago....we left in October, and the days were getting really short, so much so I was getting homesick for my home country here, for the bright early mornings, for even in winter, our early mornings are light as early as 6.30 7.ooam
Not like in Europe where it is still dark at 8.30am.

So tonight we all put our clocks back one hour and I will wake up around 6.00am and it will be bright daylight....
love it!

Movies?

I have heard so much about this new movie "Noah" starring Russell crowe.
I for one will not go and see it! Why?
Well, it's not a Christian movie and it's not made by a Christian producer and it does not follow the Bible correctly at all.
And I do not want my hard earned money to go to some one who makes a mockery of my faith, and then use it, to make more blasphemous movies.

I have been putting bits and pieces around the place.....letting people and friends know that I am not in favour of it.....so much so.....
that a dear friend of mine is getting totally sick of me criticising it all the time....I have not really criticised the movie, only the bits that I have seen of it.
The young lass that was sick of hearing me kindly told me, "I hear a lot of Christians criticise the movie, before they have seen it..."
So I informed her that, that was not what I had done, I had commented on the bits I had seen, not said anything about what I had not seen...
Another friend blasted me with....."For goodness sake, don't you think that your true Christian friends know the difference, and after all it is a movie..... for entertainment!

I reminded her, that not so long ago, an atheist friend of hers was overheard saying.....
"Did you know that the giant Goliath, in the story with David, was a normal sized man but David was a midget?"

Now......he had not read the Bible....so....where do you suppose he might have heard something like that?
A movie?
As I tried to tell her, it's not my Christian friends I am trying to get through to, for, as she correctly stated, they "know" the Bible, it's any unbelieving friends I am trying to get through to, for them NOT to believe this ridiculous adaptation of a Bible story that is no where near correct.

A littleleaven leaveneth the whole lump!

Many parents are working hard, to explain to their children and teens.....WHY....a lot of the games they play on their gadgets....as well as a lot of todays movies, music, books and magazines are not acceptable for them to bring to their home!

One parent came up with an original idea that was hard to refute!

He listened to all the reasons his children gave......for wanting to see a particular PG rated movie.
It had their favourite actors as well....everyone of their friends were allowed to see it, even some of their church friends were allowed to go and see it!

And, besides, it was only rated pg because of "suggestions" of wrong behaviour....no one actually "did" anything wrong!
And they only used the Lord's name in vain 3 times in the whole movie!
Even with all these explanations, the dad still would not let them go and see the movie.

He didn't even explain "why" he said "NO" he just said ...NO...

A little later that night, the same dad asked his teenagers and their friends, would they like some biscuits he had made that afternoon?

He did explain that he had used the favourite family recipe, but had added something new!

They asked what it was?

He calmly answered that he had added a special ingredient..... dog-poo!

He explained that there was only the tiniest little bit of dogpoo in the mix, not even a teaspoon, maybe even less....
all the other ingredients were the same as always!

He had followed the recipe exactly as needed, set the oven on precisely the right temperature....
he was sure the biscuits would be absolutely perfect!

Even with all the explanations of how well he had done everything, and how good they would taste....no one wantd to taste one!

No one!!!

The dad acted surprised!!!!

He assured them........just because he'd added the one little bit of extra, which they would hardly notice....it would not make any difference to the flavour at all, because there was such a little bit in the mix.....
but they assured him.....they would not try the biscuits!

He then explained to them, that the movie they wanted to see....was just like those biscuits.

Sin enters our mind....it starts with what we see.....the imagination continues it on....and before we know it.....what was wrong to start with, seems alright after a while.
The eye is the mirror to our soul....what we see, enters our mind, which will dwell on it if we let it.....and then it enters our spirit, and then it seems quite alright to continue with that sin, which seemed so little to begin with....
but becomes bigger as we encourage it and let it grow.

With the biscuits, just a little made all the difference, between a great biscuit, and an unacceptable biscuit.
The movie people want us to believe that all the movies that are coming out are acceptable for all to see.
They are so explicit in all they show, for example....if you saw a peeping tom at your bedroom window, watching you undress you'd call the police, but going to the movies and watching the same scene is allowable!
Something's not right there is it!?

A glimpse of Eternity....

WHAT NOW FOR YOU?

This is how much God loved the world:
He gave his Son, his one and only Son.
And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed;
By believing in him,
Anyone can have a whole and lasting life.

God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son
merely to point an accusing finger,
telling the world how bad it was.
He came to help,
to put the world right again.

Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted;
Anyone who refuses to trust in him has long since
been under the death penalty without knowing it.

John 3 (The Message)

God’s love for us is overwhelmingly apparent. He sent his own son, Jesus, to die in our place, paying the price for our sin. The bible says that the penalty of our sin is death, and none of us are sinless, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ (Romans 5:8–11). Chose life!

If this Volume has challenged you to consider how you will respond to God’s offer of life, it may be helpful for you to pray a prayer like Ian did.
¨ Ask him to forgive you for all your sins.
¨ Forgive anyone in your own life who has in any way wronged you.
¨ Ask God to be Lord of your life and commit yourself to following and serving him.

If you have made the decision to follow Jesus, it will be important to find some like-minded people who can encourage you and help you to grow in your faith. Get yourself a bible and begin reading it – it may be easiest to start at the book of John (you’ll find it by looking at the contents page at the beginning of the bible).

Our prayer for you is that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all Christians the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Live lives full of the fullness of God!
(Ephesians 3 – The Message)

“A Glimpse of Eternity” is the incredible true story of one man’s encounter with death and the realms beyond it. Stung by five box jellyfish while diving off the coast of Mauritius, Ian McCormack later died in hospital and was dead for 15-20 minutes. During this time he experienced both hell and heaven and came back to tell the story! Dying was his doorway to true life and his story is transforming lives around the world as it touches on some of the deepest questions we all eventually ask

Dedicated to our children, who are our pride and joy,
and to all those children of the world
who are yet to find their home with the Father.

“Trust in God; trust also in me.
In my Father’s house are many rooms;
if it were not so, I would have told you.
I am going there to prepare a place for you.”
- Jesus

John 14:2 (NIV)

(Ian McCormack's story is profoundly moving, and completely credible. Although I am familiar with Ian's story, I found that reading this short book caused me to question again the ultimate purpose and destiny of my own life. Hopefully, other readers will be prompted to ask the same questions.

As an experienced General Practitioner, I have no doubt that Ian died following multiple stings from Box Jellyfish. The Box Jellyfish is one of the most dangerous venomous creatures in the world. Death from Box Jellyfish stings can occur within five minutes. Death is due to respiratory failure, caused by paralysis of the respiratory centre in the brain, or to direct effects on the heart, causing electrical conduction disturbances and paralysis of the cardiac muscle. Patients who have been stung by Box Jellyfish frequently become unconscious before leaving the water.

In my opinion Ian McCormack sustained a cardiac arrest, due to the toxic effects of Box Jellyfish stings. No blame is attached to his death, since a considerable time had elapsed before the antitoxin could be administered to Ian in hospital, making the prognosis extremely poor.

Ian's account of Jesus Christ, Heaven and Hell are completely in accord with
the Biblical descriptions. In fact, like all supernatural events, the truth of these events should be checked against the truth of the Scriptures, as the Bereans did (Acts 17:11)*.

Ian later became an ordained minister in 1991, and has travelled widely all over the world speaking about his experience. Ian has made it his lifetime's goal to see as many people as possible end up in heaven, rather than hell, which is the reason for his travelling. His motive is not financial.

After hearing Ian speak, he so greatly impressed me that I co-authored two books on Near Death Experiences, and I now travel widely speaking on Near Death Experiences myself. I sincerely hope that as readers are confronted with the reality of heaven and hell, that they not only ensure their own destiny in heaven, but also encourage others to do the same.

Dr Richard Kent

(Dr Richard Kent is a retired medical doctor, and is now an ordained minister.
He is the co-author of "The Final Frontier", and "Beyond The Final Frontier", which include 51 Near Death Accounts. Readers can read about other Near Death Experiences, Dr Richard Kent and the registered UK charity from which he operates on his web site: www.finalfrontier.org.uk )

A glimpse of Eternity! (Final installment coming next!)

My parents picked me up from the airport.

Back home...... my mum had left my bedroom with its surf posters exactly as it had been two years ago.
It was like walking into a time warp.
I’d come home to a refuge.
I went to sleep that night......but was woken in the middle of the night by something shaking me.

By now I knew how to get rid of the demons using the name of Jesus and the Lord’s Prayer.
They had to go.....but what were they doing in my bedroom......in my house?
I was furious!
I got up and decided to give them a verbal lashing!

So I went for it!

I woke my parents up......but I went for it!

I sat down on my bed and said, “God – I’m sick of these things harassing me in the middle of the night. What must I do to get rid of them?”

He replied, “Read the bible.”

I said, “Next you’ll be asking me to go to church! I haven’t got a bible!”

“Your father has a bible – go and ask him for it.” So I did.

I started reading from the beginning......from the book of Genesis:

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was empty, a formless mass cloaked in darkness. And the Spirit of God was hovering over its surface. Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that it was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness.”

I wept when I read this.

I’d been to university and studied all sorts of books but I’ve never even looked at the one book that could tell me the truth. For the next six weeks I read from Genesis to Revelation.

Everything that I had seen in heaven was described in that book!

In Revelation chapter one I read about Jesus, clothed in garments of white, his face shining like the sun, with seven stars in his hand, the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.

I read in John 8:12, Jesus said that he was the light of the world and those who come to him would no longer walk in darkness but have the light of life.

I read about being born again by the Spirit of God in John chapter three.

I read that by confessing my sins to God, he had forgiven me and cleansed me from my unrighteousness.

I read about the new heaven and earth where there will be no more pain or crying.

I learnt that when a demon is cast out of someone it tries to come back to its dwelling place.

I learnt that Jesus had given me authority over the demons I had encountered and that demons could inhabit idols. The bible inspired awe in me, as I had never realised the truth that was written in its pages was so vital for life.

Since this experience in 1982 I’ve been following Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.
Initially I spent some time on my sister’s dairy farm in New Zealand getting my life sorted out.

Midway through 1983 I joined YWAM (Youth With a Mission) and sailed with them around the Pacific Islands telling the people there about God’s love.
Then I went back into South East Asia and ministered among the unreached tribal people of Malaysia. For three years I worked in the jungles of Sarawak and the mainland peninsular.
During this time I met my wife Jane.Since then, I have worked both in the church (I am now an ordained minister), and as an itinerant speaker, travelling to many nations around the world sharing this testimony.
My wife Jane and I have three beautiful children, Lisa, Michael and Sarah.
Our desire is to continue sharing the amazing good news of God’s unconditional love and mercy, and his provision through Jesus’ death on the cross for forgiveness of our sins, to everyone we meet.

A glimpse of Eternity.....

There were two more nights to go before I was to fly out of Mauritius to New Zealand.

The next night I was woken by a tapping on my window.
It was a girl saying, “Ian, I want to talk to you, let me in.” As I knew the girl, I thought nothing of it.
Half asleep I walked to the door and unlocked it. The moment I opened the door...... she grabbed it...... and I saw her eyes. I could see the same red tinge in her eyes, that I had seen in the eyes that had haunted me for the last two nights.

She began to speak in word perfect English.......She was Creole and had never spoken perfect English.

She said, “You are coming with us tonight Ian. We are going to take you somewhere.”

Then I heard other footsteps coming.

I tried to pull the door closed but it was as if this girl had gained a supernatural strength and I couldn’t move it.
Then out of my heart came the words, “In Jesus’ name – go!

She reeled backwards as if she had been punched in the chest.

As I watched her recoil back up.... I slammed the door in her face and locked it.
I was shaken but safe for the time being.

Finally it was my last night and I was all packed and ready to go.
A taxi was coming for me at 5am.
I went to sleep, but was woken in the night, this time by stones hitting the window.

It was the girl again.

I was prepared and had locked the doors, but I had left a small window open.

I thought, “Whatever these creatures are, they are out to kill me and they are using humans to do it!”

I was about to jump up and shut the window when a big black arm came through it and flicked the latch.

I heard the girl softly saying,”Ian, we want to talk to you.....Come out.”
I was pretending to be asleep and the stones came on the windows again.

This time she was louder, “Ian, come out.”

Then heavier stones began coming right through the window and she was angry now, “Ian, come out!”

I turned suddenly and saw a spear coming through the open window towards me.

I grabbed my flashlight. “The best form of defence is attack” I thought and I shone the flashlight into the spear wielder’s eyes.

There was that red tint again!

I leapt up screaming for all I was worth, grabbed his spear and thrust it back at him so he loosed its hold.

I threw it out the window and slammed the window shut.

Quickly I shone the flashlight outside on three men and a woman.

They cowered away like dogs about to be stoned.

What amazed me was how afraid of the light they were.

A glimpse of eternity......

SEEING IN A NEW LIGHT

"Be on guard.
Stand true to what you believe.
Be courageous.
Be strong.
"
1 Corinthians 16:13 (NLT)

The next morning I got up and prepared myself breakfast.

My friends came in from their morning surf and began talking to me.
I began seeing that what they were saying wasn’t what they were actually meaning. It confused me, as if I was hearing two different messages.

I began to see through their masks.

For the first time in my life I was beginning to see things in a new light.

I could see that the intents of their hearts were totally contrary to what was coming out of their mouths.

It was frightening for me because I didn’t know how to react to that kind of understanding.
So I retreated to my bedroom, and stayed there.

That night I woke again in a cold sweat.......Something nearby was scaring me.......
I turned my head to look and to my horror......the demons I had seen last night...... were now in my bedroom looking at me through my mosquito net.

Yet for some reason they couldn’t get to me.

They were intimidating me.... but they couldn’t actually get to me.

In my heart I had a deep peace.

I knew I had seen the light of God and that light was now in me.

No matter how small the flame was, it was in me and they couldn’t come in.
But they were certainly trying to terrify me and get me back.

I grabbed my flashlight again.

This time I was afraid to get out of bed to turn on the light, because they were in my room.
I didn’t know what power they had.
I flashed the light madly around the room, leaped out of bed and dashed to the light-switch.

With the light safely on I fell to the floor on my knees.

I battled with my mind all over again, just trying to keep my sanity.

Again I prayed the Lord’s Prayer and then I went back to sleep.

A glimpse of Eternity......

THE RETURN

"You have rescued me from death;
you have kept my feet from slipping.
So now I can walk in your presence, O God,
in your life-giving light."

Psalm 56:13 (NLT)

Immediately I was back in my body.......My head was tilted to the right and I had one eye open.

I was looking at a young Indian doctor who had my right foot elevated in his hand and was prodding a sharp instrument into the base of my foot.

He was looking for any signs of life.

Little did he realize that I was now alive and looking at him.

I wondered what on earth he was doing but then the penny dropped; “He thinks I’m dead!”

At the same time the doctor stopped what he was doing and turned his head in the direction of my face.......

As our eyes made contact......terror swept over his face......as though he had just seen a ghost.

Blood drained from his face and he went as white as a sheet........

His feet nearly left the ground........

I was shaken, I asked God to give me the strength to tilt my head to the left and look out the other side.

As I slowly turned my head to the left..... I saw nurses and orderlies in the doorway..... staring at me in amazement and terror.......No one said a word.

I apparently had been dead for some 15 to 20 minutes..... and was being prepared for the morgue.

I felt weak and I closed my eyes, but I quickly opened them again to check that I was still in my body.

I wasn’t sure whether or not I would disappear again.

I was still paralysed and I asked God to help me. As I prayed I felt a tingling sensation in my legs, accompanied by a comforting warmth.

I continued to pray, and the doctor just stood there shaking his head.

The warmth spread up into my body and arms.......

God was healing me!

I was so tired.......I closed my eyes again and fell soundly asleep.

I didn’t wake again until the next afternoon.
When I woke I saw my friend Simon standing outside my room looking in through the window.
He looked pale and was shaking his head......He couldn’t believe I was alive.

He had followed my trail to the hospital and had brought a New Zealand friend of mine with him.

“So you had a pretty rough night aye?” this friend asked.

“Yeah mate” I replied, “I don’t really know what happened.” I didn’t want to say, “Actually – I died!”

I was still coming to terms with all that had happened and didn’t want them to say, “Off to the rubber room for you – you’ve taken too much dope and it’s coming out your ear-holes!”

“This place smells like a latrine.” They said. “We’re getting you out of here. We’ll look after you.”

I resisted them......I wanted to stay in the hospital, but they climbed in the window, picked me up, put me over their shoulders and walked me out.

The doctor came and tried to physically restrain them but they pushed him out of their way.

A taxi was waiting.

Simon wouldn’t come in the taxi with me as he was still afraid that I was a ghost.
They took me home to my bungalow on the beach and put me to bed. Then they went straight out to the living room and had a party!

I was exhausted and hungry.
I went to sleep again and woke up in the middle of the night shivering and perspiring.

My heart was filled with terror.

I was lying facing the wall.
I rolled over to see what was scaring me.......Through my mosquito netting and through the steel bars on the windows I could see seven or eight pairs of eyes looking at me.

There was a light red glow to them. Instead of a round pupil they had slits like a cat.

They seemed half human, half animal.

I thought, “What on earth are they?” They looked into my eyes and I looked into theirs and I heard a whisper, “You’re ours and we’re coming back.”

“No you’re not!” I cried. I grabbed my flashlight and shone it at them. There was nothing there - but I knew I’d seen them!

I wondered if I was going crazy.

I began feeling like I might mentally snap.

I had to settle myself down and convince myself I wasn’t going insane. I’d been through so much in the last 24 hours.

So I said, “God, what’s going on?” Then he took me inch by inch through everything I’d been through. It was as if he seared it onto my mind.
At the end of this I asked him,” what are these things that seem to want to attack me?” He replied, “Ian, remember the Lord’s prayer”. I tried to remember it with my mind again but I couldn’t.
Then up from my heart came all the words through to “deliver me from the evil one”.

I prayed this earnestly from my heart.
Then God said, “Turn the lights out Ian.”
I gathered up my courage and turned off the main light.

I sat on the edge of my bed with my flashlight on. I felt like a Jedi warrior from Star Wars!

I began thinking, “If I don’t turn my flashlight out I’m going to have to spend the rest of my life sleeping with the light on.” I turned the flashlight off.

Nothing happened.
The prayer had been effective.
I lay down and went to sleep.
blessings....
