I lost a dear friend......
I had a dear friend who recently died from breast cancer.
She is often on my mind because....she believed that everybody would eventually be saved and go to heaven.
We had our discussions and she was adamant she was right!
What I could not get through to her was that it does not matter what “WE” think, it’s what God’s will is,
according to His Word, the Bible.
We are sinful and fail at every turn.
She did not believe that either,
she was also sure that people are “good” (which a lot of people think.) So I asked her,
“If we all go to heaven eventually, why did Jesus have to come in the flesh and then, have to die on the cross.?”
I am convinced that Jesus died in my place and that He came in the flesh so He could also die to the flesh, which I cannot do. My flesh keeps rearing up again and again.
Even though I tried to tell her that we sin, every day, (she agreed with that)and the Bible tells us “the wages of sin are death” (Romans 6 v 23) I asked her had she done any reading from the Old Testament?
She said, “No, she was mainly in the New testament”
I explained that God had made a covenant with Abraham, and this covenant is still on going!
It is not just with Abraham, if it was it would have died with him,
it is with his seed as well and eventually Christ, and by adoption we are also part of that seed,
because we have accepted Christ as our saviour, and He died for all our sins...
So she then said, “Well, what about “the elect?” that are so often mentioned in the Bible?”
So again I tried to explain that “we” are all the elect. Everybody who accepted Christ as their Saviour is!
There is not a special group that is “the elect” I told her I left a church because that was what they taught, and no where does it say so in God’s word!.
John 3 v 16: clearly states “God so loved the “world” with this word “World” we all know God means all the people...right?”
She agreed.....
Then her biggest fear, “Well, what about hell, God sends people to hell....
how can he do that?”
So I then tried to explain to her that......
“God does not send people to hell....” they decide for themselves where they go....
God has given us all a free will so we can decide for ourselves who to follow......
God made hell for the devil and his angels because they rebelled against God......
not for humans!
God loves us and sent His Son to be our hope. He has provided all that we need “for life and godliness.”
What the Father has done for us in Jesus is enough. We are not condemned and no longer need to live in fear, shame, and inadequacy. Jesus is our hope, our righteousness, our life. The truth has set us free.
The devil wants as many humans as possible, (because they are made in God’s image and he hates, no loathes them) to come with him, and hence he tries to deceive them.
The thing is....if you do not follow one.......
then by default you follow the other.
And as C.S.Lewis said.....”The devil will get people to say and do anything.... to make you believe that he does not exist!”
But he does!!!
And of course we need faith, and faith is like a muscle,
the more we use it,
the stronger it becomes,
but it also works in the opposite,
the less we use it,
the weaker it becomes!
We often had discussions like this,
but.....she’s gone now, and as I said,
I often wonder where she is right now!

What am I to do?
What am I to do?
I have been going to the same church now for more than 20 years.
I love going to this church, I watched the littlies grow up and get married and have their children.
I watched them grow from 3 and 4 year olds, to now having their own babies.
But.....and it's a big "but" I am feeling discontent and almost dread going, for the last year or so.
I broke it down to going once every 2 weeks......I was almost relieved, when my "don't have to go today" came around.
What is wrong with me????
Sure, I am not so young anymore, but that should not matter....should it?
The lady next to me, brings earplugs, because, as she says, "The music is deafening!"
Could that be it?
It is very loud, although I did hear someone say the chappie in charge of music could have a hearing problem.
Many times some have asked could the music be turned down some, the pastor says, "no"
I listened again last Sunday, and it seemed like the pastor was talking to a Sunday school class....all milk and no meat....
Could that be it?
I did mention to another person that I thought I might not come back, as I was not getting much out of it anymore....
she thought I should keep coming as an example for others.
But, somehow I don't think I make a very good example, sitting there, not getting anything out of it...
I do go to a midweek meeting, we are studying the book of Genesis, I will admit I get a lot more out of this study than actually going to a church.
I don't know...….will have to see how I go.....I honestly don't know what to do....I live in a small country town, there are not many churches to go to, to try out to see if they are different, or more to what I might need, and, I do believe we go to a church to have a need filled.

Humour me....
HUMOUR ME.......
Just humour me and go along with this……
Two angels talking and watching…..what…or who are they watching?
God the father….
God the Son…..
and God the Holy Spirit
God the father is speaking….
(The angels are listening)
God says....
“I am going to make a planet…an earth like planet, so I can put beings on it, which will be made in our image!”
God the Son thinks that a fantastic Idea, and so does God, the Holy Spirit. “But,” God the Father explains…. “These beings, we will call them humans, will be tempted….. and will give in to that temptation” and He looks questioningly at God the Son, Jesus, “They will commit what we will call sin”
“I think to have beings made in our image wonderful we can love them and love them….” Says Jesus. “But…” says God the Father… “We will need some one to stand in for them…..someone who is totally blameless and sinless….so they can be redeemed as it were….”
The Son Jesus looks at God the Father…..then He looks at God the Holy Spirit….and speaks up…. “I will stand in for them to redeem them…..” He says.
God the father is smiling….so is God the Holy Spirit who says…. “And I will come, when the time is right, and be right along side of you….so we can do the work together…”
The two angels look at each other in horror…….
Their precious Jesus…..the darling of heaven.....going down to earth? What is he planning on doing?
God is speaking again…… “Son….you do understand that you will have to go down and become one of them? You will have to be born like one of these humans…else you cannot take their place when the time comes?”
Jesus smiles…. “yes…I understand…”
(So….when the time comes….the earth has been created and the humans have been made and have become sinners…. The time for Jesus to go down has arrived…. The angels have been told that the only thing they are allowed to do is announce the event to some simple shepherds…when it is time….).
There is silence in heaven…….Jesus is walking down a long corridor….ready to go down to earth….to “become one of them”
The angels hold their breath….this is awful……
One minute Jesus is there……
. the next he is gone…..
(Not long after, by heavenly time….,)
the angels are told to go and proclaim a message to the shepherds…which they are overjoyed to do, as they now know all went according to plan….
A lovely little boy was born to a lowly couple named Joseph and Mary….they named Him Jesus just as the angel Gabriel had told them to do….
We celebrate His birthday soon…please remember why we celebrate!

when does the Bible say.....
2 Thessalonians verse2: "Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, regarding the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him,
2 that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit, or a message, or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.
Verse 9; that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and false signs and wonders,
and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not accept the love of the truth so as to be saved.
For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false.
So, the people of Thessalonica thought that Jesus had already come, and that they missed out and were left behind...
Then, if they thought that......
how can any one think today, that the church will have to go through all that mess, the tribulation brings, that will eventually happen?
Things today are ready for it as all the technology is in place,
( it was not in their day, yet they thought they’d missed it)
It states clearly here that the “taking away” is imminent. Again, as they thought they’d missed it.
And another thing....
In Mathew 23; verses 8-9 we read; But as for you, do not be called Rabbi; for only One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers and sisters. 9 And do not call anyone on earth your father; for only One is your Father, He who is in heaven. ( father like the pope)....

What are we to expect is coming?
AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH
You know, when we read “as it was in the days of Noah” what do we think of?
What was it, that made God so angry, that he decided to flood the earth, so it would get covered, and drown everything. Jesus said in Mathew 24 v 37..38..
“For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,”
And that is what we home in on, most of the time,.... but it says a lot more....all we have to do is go to...
Genesis 6: verse 2;... that the sons of God saw that the daughters of mankind were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose.
Verse 4: "The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of mankind, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.",,
Verse 5;Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of mankind was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of their hearts was only evil continually.
Verse 11/12; Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for humanity had corrupted its way upon the earth.
(The Nephilim are mysterious beings or people in the Hebrew Bible who are large and strong. The word Nephilim is loosely translated as giants by Wikipedia and the Jewish explanations interpret them as hybrid sons of fallen angels.)
So, looking at the above, it is going to be much more happening than just what we think so far, is going to happen...
We keep saying what Jesus said above in Mathew.”

Acts 10 Conelius the Centurion calls for Peter
Trying to explain to someone being good is not enough.
In the Bible, the new testament the book of Acts chapter 10 We read about a man called Cornelius,
He was a devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, who gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always.
That means he gave money to people who needed it,
he was a volunteer,
from way back....
helping every one that he could...
And he prayed to God, always.
In other words...
”he was a good man” according to the way we would look at it.
Yet....
he was not saved!
He was seeking God,
but had not found him yet.
So, how do we explain this man praying and looking after his family and doing all the right things...
He probably thought he was a good man,
yet.....he felt in his heart,
there was something missing.
AS much as he prayed,
and did all that was right,
he was missing something...
God knew this, as God sees the heart.
How many people pray the Lords prayer, thinking they are doing the right thing...
they are praying....
like this man did
...But..
those who pray the Lord’s prayer,
do they just say it with their mouth,
and not really think about what they are saying as it is so familiar to them.
Cornelius, could see that there was something wrong with the religions, around him....
could see there was something missing,
but he did not know “what”
We now go to the apostle Peter.
He is on the roof top, of a house, and he has a vision.
A large sheet came down,
wherein were all manner of four footed beasts and creeping things of the earth and birds of the heaven.
and a voice said, “Peter come and eat”
But Peter said,
Not so, Lord;
for I have never eaten anything that is common and unclean.
Then the voice said
“What God hath cleansed, make not thou common.”
This could mean two things,
Peter now could eat anything, even if the law forbade it for the Jews to eat certain things,
it could also mean that
“the good news”
is for everybody and not just for the Jews.
Just at that time there were people at the door asking for him.
So he went down and asked them why they were looking for him.
They said, “Cornelius a centurion, a righteous man and one that fears God, and well reported of by all the nation of the Jews, was warned of God by a holy angel to send for you into his house, and to hear words from you."
So here we see, he was a good man.
But still needed God....
Being good does not do it for you...
it’s just not enough.
So Peter went to Cornelius’ house, and asked him, why he was called for?
Cornelius said,
“Four days ago, until this hour,
I was keeping the ninth hour of prayer in my house;
and behold, a man stood before me in bright apparel, and said, "Cornelius, your prayer is heard, and your gifts are had in remembrance in the sight of God. Send therefore to Joppa, and call a man called Simon, who is surnamed Peter; he is staying there, in the house of Simon a tanner, by the sea side."
That is why I sent for you and am glad you came....
we are now ready to hear what God has commanded you to speak.”
So, Peter explained to him that God is no respecter of person,
and all are welcome to come to him.”
Peter explained all that had happened and how Jesus,
the Son of God, was hung on a tree,
but God raised him up after three days....
and showed him to certain witnesses God had selected beforehand—not
to the general public,
but to us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
Even as Peter was saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those listening! Peter asked,
“Can anyone object to my baptizing them, now that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we did?”
So he did, baptizing them in the name of Jesus, the Messiah.
Afterwards Cornelius begged him to stay with them for several days.
This is a perfect example for those people who think they are “good people” here, they can see, being good is not good enough....
it is only through Jesus, that they will be accepted by God.

Dear Tanya,
I remember you and I sitting at a table at the mall, and as we were having our coffees, I was trying to tell you, that the rapture could happen at any minute, which is still true, just closer now than ever.
I told you that I would be going and no longer be here, but lots of people would be left behind, because they had not accepted Jesus as their personal savior. You seemed to not be perturbed by what I was telling you!
I didn’t understand then,
I don’t understand now!
Dearest,friend,you told me both you and your husband grew up in church. Did you not accept Jesus as your savior then?
That is a must….you must truly believe in Jesus as the Son of God, and that He died on the cross, in your place, because of sin.
There is no getting away from that.
God is so Holy, that he cannot look on any sin.
( this is why people who say they went to heaven, are lying, because they are full of sin, and God does not allow sin in heaven)
Even people who say they are good, which you said you were….you obey all the laws,
and don’t do anything that’s wrong,
and help people,
and give a lot,
and volunteer,
none of that,is good enough.
You are still a sinner
you inherited this sin from your early families…All the way back to Adam and Eve…It’s like some families have genes that are passed on to their offspring.
like, some families have the Dementhia gene....
it's in their genes and they pass it on to their children...

a lot of nasty…very nasty things are going to happen,

before the real end of the world happens,

go to the last book in it.
Called Revelations of Jesus to John from about chapter 6 to10…
there is also a lot to learn from the book of Daniel, and Isaiah, it would be good for you to read those two complete books….they are in the Old Testament.

1st…..A leader will come and bring peace from all the chaos,
that will have happened after all these people have disappeared.
Just think…trains will have crashed.
(if the drivers were Christians)
planes
buses,
cars,
trams,
anything on wheels,
that had a Christian behind them,
would crash,
so someone has to step in and make order out of all this chaos!
And the whole world will be happy because this new leader will seem full of wisdom,
and all will be restored.
All seems well,
but there will be a lot more people killing and getting killed.
2nd….

(much like today) things will seem to have settled down,
for around 3,and a half years.
3rd...Prices will go sky high,
if you think prices are high now, you aint seen nothing yet.
The Bible say one loaf of bread, will cost a day’s wages
as well as anything else,
if you can get anything!
Actually this is what the Bible actually says: “A quart of wheat for a denarius,
and three quarts of barley for a denarius;
and do not damage the oil and the wine.”
(A quart is just about enough for one loaf of bread. And three quarts is obviously 3 times as much...A denarius’ is worth around a days wages for a labourer)I could go on,
as it gets a lot worse...
but I think you get the idea,
I fyou went to your Bible and read those books I mentioned,
as to how bad it will be and how important it is for you to accept Jesus now, while you still can...
Please, I beg you to do it...now,
before it is too late...

I told you that I would be going and no longer be here, but lots of people would be left behind, because they had not accepted Jesus as their personal savior. You seemed to not be perturbed by what I was telling you!

Dearest,friend,you told me both you and your husband grew up in church. Did you not accept Jesus as your savior then?
That is a must….you must truly believe in Jesus as the Son of God, and that He died on the cross, in your place, because of sin.
There is no getting away from that.
God is so Holy, that he cannot look on any sin.
( this is why people who say they went to heaven, are lying, because they are full of sin, and God does not allow sin in heaven)
Even people who say they are good, which you said you were….you obey all the laws,

The pass over feast..... or Seder!
To begin with Paul explains in 1 Corinthians 11, that we must be imitators of Christ…..
We celebrate Passover, because the angel of death passed over, in Egypt, due to the covering of the blood on the door posts, from an unblemished lamb, that had to die, to let others live!
As we will see further on, it all began in the book of Exodus!
Then we read in 1 Corinthians 11 verses 27; How important it is, to take this celebration of the Lord’s supper, which is the Passover, we are not to take it lightly.
Paul says here, and I quote, “ whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy way, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.” And further down, 29: For the one who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not properly recognize the body. For this reason many among you are weak and sick.
Way too many times, I have seen guests, come to a church, friends brought them, and communion happens to be celebrated, and even if the pastor explains all about it, they don’t really know what they are doing….
This is totally wrong….
The least people can do is explain to their friends, who come with them, not to take part and more importantly,..... why!
The four/five cups of Passover The four cups of Passover are a picture of God’s deliverance of Israel.
For Christians this also points to their own deliverance since Jesus our Messiah descends from the Jewish people.
Learning about the Passover overall can be so important for the Christian and deepen their walk with the Lord.
1st cup: The Cup of Sanctification
Exodus 6: 6 Therefore say to Bnei-Yisrael: "I am Adonai, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. I will deliver you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments."
Just as Adonai brought Israel out from under the bondage of the Egyptians, He also brings us out of the bondage of sin and death and brings His people into the promised Messianic Kingdom.
1 Corinthians 1:30: It is his doing that you are united with the Messiah Yeshua. He has become wisdom for us from God, and righteousness and holiness and redemption as well!
2nd cup; The Cup of Deliverance
Exodus 6:6; again says: 'I will deliver you from their bondage…"
While the nation of Israel were slaves in Egypt, we too experience deliverance from slavery as Yeshua delivers us from slavery to sin and death! Romans 6:20: For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in relationship to righteousness;
3rd cup; The Cup of Redemption
( this is the cup Jesus took at the last supper with His disciples, and this could well be the “cup” he was referring to in the garden when he prayed, “Take this cup from me, but not My will, but Thy will)
We go back again to Exodus 6:6: …"and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments." Adonai redeemed the Jewish people for Himself. As believers, we experienced redemption through Yeshua!
His blood was shed on the cross as a final atonement, as a payment for sins.
His arms outstretched on a tree, He gave Himself up for us to pay the price that was ours to pay!
The One who knew no sin became sin for us and He paid our debt. He took the curse of sin on Himself in our place. Galatians 3:13: The Messiah redeemed us from the curse pronounced in the Torah by becoming cursed on our behalf; for the Tanakh says, “Everyone who hangs from a stake comes under a curse.”
This is referring to Deuteronomy 21:22-23 which says:
"Suppose a man is guilty of a sin with a death sentence and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree. His body is not to remain all night on the tree—instead you must certainly bury him the same day, for anyone hanged is a curse of God. You must not defile your land that Adonai your God is giving you as an inheritance."( and it was a tree, that they hung Jesus on, not the nicely hewn cross we see in paintings etc.)
The 4th cup; The Cup of Hillel (Praise or Acceptance) Exodus 6:7;
"I will take you to Myself as a people, and I will be your God. You will know that I am Adonai your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians."
This is the cup Yeshua speaks of in Matthew 26:29:
"But I say to you, I will never drink of this fruit of the vine from now on, until that day when I drink it anew with you in My Father’s kingdom."
It is this last of the Passover cups that has the Jewish people look toward their acceptance into the Kingdom of the Father!
As a believer, you look forward to the hope that is in your acceptance through Yeshua the Messiah and how He is your hope and your praise to the glory of God!
Reflection
Passover for the Jewish people is a time to reflect on God’s plan for mankind since the foundations of the earth.
It is a time to reflect on how our God is a redeeming God and how He does not EVER abandon the people He has set apart for Himself.
For Messianic Jews and also for Christian Gentiles alike, we reflect on the time we are with Yeshua in the Messianic Kingdom!
I hope you find this helpful in understanding the four cups of the Passover Seder!
( A fifth cup is reserved for the prophet Elijah in hopes he will visit during the celebration; representing future redemption, it is left unconsumed.)

Now, people also call the Passover “Pesach” so what is the difference?
The Seder is supposed to take place with everyone in a reclining position.
Because slaves ate hurriedly; and the Jews then, were slaves, they ate hurriedly
It seems it was called Seder, later....as that is what it was called in the new testament, but it means the same, and the affluent and free were able to recline on cushions, as they would have in the days of Jesus,
which goes to show how wrong the painting of “the last supper” is!
