Here we go again......

What actually do you think, "Turn the other cheek means?"

In Mathew chapter 5 verse 39, Jesus says “ But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.

Have you ever tried to slap someone on the right cheek? Try it!

It’s a back hander. So,

To "turn the other cheek" does not mean you are meek,

nor does it mean we place ourselves in danger.

Turning the other cheek actually refers to personal retaliation,

not criminal offenses.

To me, turning the other cheek means “not to return insult for insult in retaliation” which is what most people expect,

and how worldly people act. By "worldly" I mean none Spirit filled Christians, but there are also plenty of worldly people who would also follow this and NOT want to retaliate. But...… I am sure we all realise,

A back hand slap is more insulting than a normal slap in the face,

which if you get one, is always the left side...

So, that would be more of a challenge to your personality and to see if you would retaliate or not...

so it would take more NOT to retaliate, hence it would be in your favour, to also turn the other cheek, to show your inner strength.
