The anointing from God....

We did a study on the anointing, not so long ago, and I enjoyed doing it, but could not get through to the other ladies, that no where in the WORD does it say that we have to be filled again and again.
We just are so limited in understanding God almighty, that to us, "more" means there is not enough or a lack of something.

But with God, wouldn't that be a wrong answer? God always gives enough! Never a lack of anything!

The apostle John in his letter, tells his readers that they have been anointed by the Holy One (God)and that for them, the anointing they received from Him remains in them.

1 John 2:20-27: 20 And ye have an anointing from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and because no lie is of the truth.

22 Who is the liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, even he that denies the Father and the Son.

23 Whosoever denies the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that confesses the Son hath the Father also.

24 As for you, let that abide in you which ye heard from the beginning. If that which ye heard from the beginning abide in you, ye also shall abide in the Son, and in the Father.

25 And this is the promise which he promised us, even the life eternal.

26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that would lead you astray.

27 And as for you, the anointing which ye received of him abides in you, and ye need not that any one teach you; but as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, ye abide in him.

John is pleading for them to stay true to Christ, not to deny Him and to continue to walk with Him, aware that God has begun a work in them.

He makes no hint that some of them may need an increase in the anointing to be able to function at their best, facing what lies ahead of them. What they have is enough for the job they are to do!

Even The apostle Peter urges us in 2 Peter 1:3-4 that,
“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”

They received the anointing as they turned away from sin, repented and were born again. That anointing was enough to see them through the rest of their lives.

I have also heard, "Well,as you use your anointed gift, you use it up, so it has to be filled up again, like a bucket, you know, you use what's in it, so it needs filling up!"

That then means, to me, that God did not give you enough to begin with, and He has failed us?

yet in both verses above, it says that He has given us enough for life!

I just had to get this off my chest, as they would not listen to me, so you have become my other listeners
