JESUS came!!!
In the beginning,....
God created the heavens and the earth.
God is three in one..
.God the Father,
God the Son,
and God,the Holy Spirit. Always there.... always together.
The Holy Spirit is the power of God and Jesus
that makes them 3 equal.
In Colossians 1, we read “In and through Jesus were all things created, ALL things” ..
So then we read that Adam and Eve sinned.
God saw that they needed a someone who they needed to safe them,
but it had to be some one who had never sinned.
As we read in Hebrews 12 v 2; Looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who, “for the joy that was set before Him” endured the cross...etc...
So, He said, .”I’ll go....I'll take the form of “man” I'll take the punishment for them, I love them as much as You do! That will restore “man” back to US in perfect fellowship” Then Jesus turned to the Holy Spirit and said, “I can't go, unless You come with me for You are the one with the power.”
So the Holy Spirit said, “Right, You go on ahead, and when the time is right, I'll come and join you”....
So, the time was right...
and Jesus walked down the long hall way...
angels stood on either side...
holding their breath...
their beloved Jesus was leaving....
the big doors opened....
one minute he was there...
the next he was gone....
nine months later.....
Shepherds in the field that night heard the angels sing...
A baby had been born in a stall in Bethlehem...
and they were to go and see....
Our Saviour had arrived!...
A sinless baby!

Persia/Iran
Daniel 10 verse 1a “In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia ( now Iran) a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, even a great warfare.
In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three whole weeks.
Then, I saw a vision... 10 And, behold, a hand touched me, 11) And he said unto me, “O Daniel, thou man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright; for unto thee am I now sent.
Fear not, Daniel; for from the first day that thou didst set thy heart to understand, and to humble thyself before thy God, thy words were heard: and I am come for thy words’ sake.
13) But the prince of the kingdom of Persia/Iran, withstood me one and twenty days;
but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me: and I remained there with the kings of Persia/Iran.
14) Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people,(that is the Israelis) in the latter days; for the vision is yet for many days.
Then in Ezekiel 38 verse .. 1) And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
2 “Son of man, set thy face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, Saying. “I will turn thee about, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armour, a great company with buckler and shield, all of them handling swords: Persia/Iran. And its followers, Cush/Sudan, and Put/ Libia....
So as we can see...Persia/Iran which has always been a problem to Israel.....and by now it seems we are well and truly in the end times...

Jesus said:
Jesus says :
I am the Vine, you are the branch;....
If you remain in Me, and I in you, then you may bear My fruit, abundantly!
Why?
Because without Me you can't do anything. (John 15:5)
Do you know how special it is, that you can be a branch that may bear My fruit?
That's all...
My fruit,
My character,
is visible in you;
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23)
You might be thinking: Really?
That is impossible!
Don't be discouraged when you find that your efforts to produce that fruit are fruitless.
I have GREAT news for you!
It is not about "your" performance...
efforts...
and abilities..
that will make the fruit grow!
I know you can't do anything without Me.
The fruit of the vine has no life in itself.
I long so much for you to give Me space...
so I can process in you... what you can't do yourself.
I want to turn your impossibilities into My possibilities.
That's the secret;..
I Myself am the Vine,
you are the branch...
You have been placed in Me...
Because you are 'attached' to Me...
and are one with Me,
My life juices flow through you, which will cause My fruit to grow and become bigger. I myself edit in you what is needed...
You can relax and surrender to this growth process in your life.
be confident in My ability...
My nurturing love...
and powerful work in you..
then you will grow and bear My fruit
You can be sure that I also plant the necessary faith in you...
so that you will reach your goal...
I enjoy seeing how in My loving presence...
My beautiful fruit is growing in you...
My life... visible in you! That tastes like more... for you...
your environment...
but above all:
My beautiful fruit that grows in you in honour of My Father!...
(Joh.15:1-8, 2Cor.3:18, Fil.1:6, 2:13, Col.2:9,10)...

Power of the Holy Spirit
In Acts 5 verse 15; we read that, when the shadow of Peter fell on people, they were healed….
so that was Peter’s gift…..
towards the end of Acts, ch 19: Paul only had to touch a scarf or sweat bands…or apron…anything, and when it was handed to the sick person, it was a healing thing…..
that was Paul’s gift….
That does not mean we can all do it…that was their gift,
God gives each a gift, but not the same as someone else’s….. something that is personally theirs.
Then in Acts 4: we read that Peter and John were threatened.
Anas and his whole priestly family, warned and threatened Peter and John to never again speak about Jesus nor to preach in his name.
Peter and John brought this back to the church family.
And what did they do?
They had to make a decision.
You know, this was a diverse group of people.
There were the young and the old.
There were the single folk as well as those who had families.
There were young believers as well as mature old believers.
The prohibition imposed by the high priest’s counsel was a tremendous obstacle for this young church.
Look at verses 24-30.....
these believers chose instead, to lift their voices in prayer to God.
There was no complaint in their prayer about their situation.
They weren’t vengeful.
Nor did they even ask the Lord for relief.
Not even one among them was worried about their lives
or their job security,
or their family,
or their children....
Instead, they entrusted it all to the Sovereign God.
they simply prayed: “Lord give us the boldness to proclaim Christ, regardless of the dangers of persecution.”
(what would we have done in todays way of liveng?)
“After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” That is...the whole lot of church people who were there.
When the believers prayed, God answered their prayer by filling each of them with his Spirit.
It’s as if so much power came into that room, which made the whole place shake, barely able to contain it.
It’s as if God himself was eager and excited to answer their prayer.
And when they were all filled, they did not just sit down and bask in God’s blessing.
They went out and did exactly what God wanted them to do in the first place.
They went out and began to speak the word of God Boldly to everyone.
God gave them his Spirit in abundance this time, in answer to their earnest prayer to continue preaching the word of God boldly and testifying to the name of Jesus.
And that is how we should all be, bold in the power of the Holy Spirit.

It;s time we got serious
It’s time we got serious….
You know I honestly don’t think those people who call themselves chrsitians, but are not, truly have no idea what is waiting for them, once the real Jesus following Christians are gone…
And that will happen….
quite soon too I believe.
This is what is waiting for those who are still here…
First, let me tell you, it may not seem all that bad, but believe it or not, things will gradually get worse.
As we have all seen, digital money is making it’s way here.
There will actually come a new leader,
and when he shows up, you have 7 years and then the end of the world happens.
So, he will promise that he will take care of the mess that seems to be happening, and the best way to sort things will be for everyone to take a mark, like some already have, that will allow you to do all purchases and anything else you want to do, just by holding this mark up to some gadget that will approve, and then you can go and buy food or whatever else you need.
But that’s not all, things will gradually go the same way as in China, I am sure you know what is happening there, with a score point of some kind… that will go world wide, thanks to this new leader.
If you take this mark, that means you give alliance to this leader, if you don’t his people will chase you, and be very angry with you, they will give you one more chance to take this mark, if you still say no, you die!
If in the meantime you discovered that you know where all those people went who disappeared you know that it was because they were true followers of Jesus, all of them, not pretend but true, you want to go there too and that is why you refuse to take this mark.
You also discovered that you will not go to be where those others went, but you will go to a much worse place….
This is what will gradually happen.
1)Food will cost so much, it will take all your pay just to buy a loaf of bread.
2) Then, there is going to be a lot of killing of people, as well as a very big shortage of food, sickness will also be very bad, much worse than the “thing” that has been going round these last 2 years .And the wild animals will start to attack people.
Then, we read in the Bible that there is a bottomless pit, it will be opened, , and smoke ascends out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air will be darkened from the smoke of the shaft.
Then out of the smoke come locusts, that are in reality demons, power has been given to them.
They are told not to hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but only the people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.
So, as you can see, there will be people who have refused that mark, have kept themselves hidden, and are safe, so far, from these terrible things that are happening, because these demonic looking locusts are not allowed to touch them as they have a special mark from God.
But these locust are also not allowed to kill any of the others but to torment them for 5 months.
The pain is as bad as a scorpion sting when it stings someone. It will be so painful people will wish they will die, but they won’t.
3)Remember these are demons, they can make themselves look like anything, and these look like horses, they wear a crown like gold, they have human faces, hair like women and teeth of lions.
They have breastplates like breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings is like the sound of chariots, of many horses rushing to battle.
They have tails like scorpions, and stings; and in their tails is their power to hurt people for five months.
They have as king over them, the angel of the abyss; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in the Greek he has the name Apollyon
4)But wait...there’s more...I have read reports that people have heard “funny noises” coming from under the Euphrates river,
could it be because......
there are four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” And the four angels, who have been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, are released, so that they will kill a third of mankind.
(oh, there is lots more)
and there will be a great earthquake; and the sun becomes as black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon becomes like blood;
and the stars of the sky will fall to the earth, as a fig tree drops its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind.
The sky will be split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island will be removed from its place.
Then the kings of the earth and the eminent people, and the commanders and the wealthy and the strong, and every slave and free person will hide themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains;
and they will say to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the sight of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; for the great day of Their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
YES, all this is in the Bible, in the book of revelations, you should go and read it!
You know... TODAY is the day to accept Jesus, tomorrow may be too late...

Jerusalem and the temple
According to biblical accounts, it took Solomon 7 years to build the Temple, lasting from the fourth to the eleventh year of King Solomon’s reign.
In 586 BC, the Temple was plundered and destroyed to its foundations by Nebuchadnezzar. Everything was transported to Babylon, the holy vessels and all the ornaments of gold, silver, and brass.
The Temple was rebuilt between 516 BC and 70 AD, known as the “Second Temple.” It was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD, during the Jewish revolt of 66-70 AD against Roman rule.
2 Kings 25 8 On the seventh day of the fifth month of the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylonia, Nebuzaradan, adviser to the king and commander of his army, entered Jerusalem. 9 He burned down the Temple, the palace, and the houses of all the important people in Jerusalem, 10 and his soldiers tore down the city walls.
11 Then Nebuzaradan took away to Babylonia the people who were left in the city, the remaining skilled workers, and those who had deserted to the Babylonians.
12 But he left in Judah some of the poorest people, who owned no property, and put them to work in the vineyards and fields.
2nd destruction of the temple ( eye witnessed by Josephus) This attack was made upon the first day of the month Panemus [Tamuz] [A.D. 70]. When the banks were completed, and the battering rams brought, and could do nothing, Titus gave orders to set fire to the gates of the temple. In no long time after which the holy house itself was burnt down, even against his consent.
And now the soldiers had already put fire to the gates; and the silver that was over them quickly carried the flames to the wood that was within it: whence it spread itself all on the sudden, and caught hold on the cloisters.
Upon the Jews seeing this fire all about them, their spirits sunk, together with their bodies: and they were under such astonishment, that not one of them made any haste, either to defend himself, or to quench the fire: but they stood as mute spectators of it only.
However, they did not so grieve at the loss of what was now burning, as to grow wiser thereby for the time to come.
But as though the holy house itself had been on fire already, they whetted their passions against the Romans. This fire prevailed during that day, and the next also. For the soldiers were not able to burn all the cloisters that were round about together at one time, but only by pieces.
3. But then, on the next day, Titus commanded part of his army to quench the fire, and to make a road for the more easy marching up of the legions;
Then we read in Daniel ch 9 verse 26” “Then after the sixty-two weeks, the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary
The people of the prince who is to come,, Anti- Christ,( the Romans destroyed the city and sanctuary, ( the temple)so the prince to come, comes from the Romans?...

Have you tasted Jesus?
A well-respected scholar and avowed atheist was speaking at a large outdoor picnic. He spoke for two and a half hours attempting to prove that the resurrection of Jesus was false.
He quoted scholar after scholar and book after book.
He concluded that since there was no such thing as the historical resurrection, the religious tradition of the church was groundless emotional nonsense because it was based on a relationship with a risen Jesus, who never rose from the dead in any literal sense. He then asked if there were any questions.
After about 30 seconds, an old preacher stood up.
"Sir, I have one question," he said as all eyes turned toward him.
He reached into his sack lunch and pulled out an apple he had been eating.
"My question is a simple question," he said before taking another bite of the apple.
He continued, "I haven't read all the books you have, and I can't recite the Scriptures in the original Greek." He took a couple more bites of the apple and said, "I don't know a thing about Niebuhr and Heidegger."
He finished the apple and said, "All I wanna know is: this apple I just finished, was it tart or sweet?"
The speaker paused for a moment and answered in exemplary scholarly fashion, "I cannot possibly answer that question, for I haven't tasted your apple."
The white-haired preacher dropped the core of his apple into his crumpled paper bag and said calmly, "Neither have you tasted my Jesus."
Have you tasted Jesus?
"Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him. If you have, rejoice in the hope of the resurrection that your faith in Him brings." - Psalm 34:8

saying, ‘On the tenth of this month they are, each one, to take a lamb for themselves, according to the fathers’ households, a lamb for each household.
4 Now if the household is too small for a lamb, then he and his neighbour nearest to his house are to take one according to the number of persons in them;
in proportion to what each one should eat, you are to divide the lamb.
5 Your lamb shall be an unblemished male a year old;
you may take it from the sheep or from the goats.
6 You shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month, then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel is to slaughter it at twilight. . Moreover, they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses in which they eat it.
I will go through the land of Egypt on that night, and fatally strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the human firstborn to animals; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments—I am the LORD.
13 The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and no plague will come upon you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.
The blood of the lamb will let death pass over!......
So, also Christs death on the cross, as He died for all, will pass death over, but you must accept that He died for you.
It is the LORD’S Passover
. Where it says, “You shall keep it until the fourteenth of the month”.....
I used to work with a lovely Lebanese lady, Anna.
She was a Christian as was her family. She told me, that Christians in Lebanon, when they still lived there, took a lamb as described here, and kept it in the house, for a pet.
The children loved this little lamb, but it was the lamb, that was to be slaughtered and sacrificed, for the family, as the bible said.
She said it was so sad, as her and her siblings had started to love that little lamb.

Meeting God!
A little boy wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with Twinkies and a six-pack of root beer and he started his journey.
When he had gone about three blocks, he met an old man. He was sitting in the park just staring at some pigeons.
The boy sat down next to him and opened his suitcase.
He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed that the old man looked hungry, so he offered him a Twinkie.
He gratefully accepted it and smiled at him.
His smile was so pleasant that the boy wanted to see it again, so he offered him a root beer.
Again, he smiled at him. The boy was delighted!
They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling, but they never said a word.
As it grew dark, the boy realized how tired he was and he got up to leave, but before he had gone more than a few steps,
he turned around, ran back to the old man, and gave him a hug.
That gave him his biggest smile ever.
When the boy opened the door to his own house a short time later, his mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face.
She asked him, "What did you do today that made you so happy? "He replied, "I had lunch with God." But before his mother could respond, he added,
"You know what? He's got the most beautiful smile I've ever seen!"
Meanwhile, the old man, also radiant with joy, returned to his home.
His son was stunned by the look of peace on his face and he asked, "Dad, what did you do today that made you so happy?"
He replied, "I ate Twinkies in the park with God." However, before his son responded, he added, "You know, he's much younger than I expected."
Too often we underestimate the power of a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring.

Driving home....
I was driving home from a work when my car started to choke and sputter and died.
I barely managed to coast, cruising, into a gas station, glad only that I would not be blocking traffic on the highway and would have a somewhat warm spot to wait for the tow truck
It wouldn't even turn over.
Before I could make the call, I saw a woman walking out of the "quickie mart" building, and it looked like she slipped on some ice and fell into a gas pump!
So I got out to see if she was okay. When I got there, it looked more like she had been overcome by sobs than that she had fallen.
She was a young woman who looked really haggard with dark circles under her eyes. She dropped something as I helped her up, and I picked it up to give it to her.
It was a nickel.
At that moment, everything came into focus for me: the crying woman, the ancient Suburban crammed full of stuff with 3 kids in the back (1 in a car seat), and the gas pump reading $4.95.
I asked her if she was okay and if she needed help, and she just kept saying "I don't want my kids to see me crying,"
so we stood on the other side of the pump from her car. She said she was driving to California and that things were very hard for her right now.
So, I asked, "And you were praying?" That made her back away from me a little, but I assured her I was not a crazy person and said, "He heard you, and He sent me."
I took out my card and swiped it through the card reader on the pump so she could fill up her car completely, and while it was fueling, walked to the next door McDonald's and bought 2 big bags of food, some gift certificates for more, and a big cup of coffee.
She gave the food to the kids in the car who attacked it like wolves, and we stood by the pump eating fries and talking a little.
She told me her name and that she lived nearby. Her boyfriend left 2 months ago, and she had not been able to make ends meet.
She knew she wouldn't have money to pay the rent January 1st, and finally, in desperation, had called her parents, with whom she had not spoken in about 5 years.
They lived in California and said she could come live with them and try to get on her feet there.
So she packed up everything she owned in the car. She told the kids they were going to California for Christmas but not that they were going to live there.
I gave her my gloves and a little hug and said a quick prayer with her for safety on the road. As I was walking over to my car, she said, "So, are you like an angel or something?"
This definitely made me cry. I said, "Sweetie, at this time of year, angels are really busy, so sometimes God uses regular people."
It was so incredible to be a part of someone else's miracle. And of course, when I got in my car, it started right away and got me home with no problem.
I'll put it in the shop tomorrow for a check, but I suspect the mechanic won't find anything wrong...

The empty chair.....
A man's daughter had asked the local minister to come and pray with her father. When the minister arrived, he found the man lying in bed with his head propped up on two pillows. An empty chair sat beside his bed
The minister assumed that the old fellow had been informed of his visit.
"I guess you were expecting me," he said.....
"No, who are you?" said the father.
"I'm the new minister at your church," he replied.
"When I saw the empty chair, I figured you knew I was going to show up."
"Oh yeah, the chair," said the bedridden man.
"Would you mind closing the door?"
Puzzled, the minister shut the door.
"I have never told anyone this,
not even my daughter,"
said the man.
"But all of my life I have never known how to pray.
At church....
I used to hear the pastor talk about prayer, but it went right over my head.
I abandoned any attempt at prayer,".....
the old man continued,....
"until one day,..... about four years ago,
my best friend said to me,..... 'Joe, prayer is just a simple matter of having a conversation with Jesus.....
Here is what I suggest.
.... Sit down in a chair;
place an empty chair in front of you,
and in faith see Jesus on the chair.
It's not spooky because He promised,
"I'll be with you always."
Then, just speak to Him in the same way you're doing with me right now.'
So, I tried it, and I've liked it so much.... that I do it a couple of hours every day. I'm careful though.....
If my daughter saw me talking to an empty chair, she'd either have a nervous breakdown or send me off to the funny farm."
The minister was deeply moved by the story and encouraged the old man to continue on the journey.
Then he prayed with him..... anointed him with oil.....
and returned to the church.
Two nights later the daughter called to tell the minister that her daddy had died that afternoon.
"Did he die in peace?" he asked.
"Yes, when I left the house about two o' clock, he called me over to his bedside, told me he loved me and kissed me on the cheek.
When I got back from the store an hour later, I found him dead.
But there was something strange about his death.
Apparently, just before Daddy died, he leaned over and rested his head on the chair beside the bed.
What do you make of that?"
The minister wiped a tear from his eye and said, "I wish we could all go like that."

One Saturday night, a pastor was working late and decided to call his wife before he left for home.
It was about 10:00 PM, but his wife didn't answer the phone.The pastor let it ring many times.
He thought it was odd that she didn't answer but decided to wrap up a few things and try again in a few minutes.
When he tried again, she answered right away......
He asked her why she hadn't answered before, and she said that it hadn't rung at their house.
They brushed it off as a fluke and went on their merry ways.
The following Monday, the pastor received a call at the church office,
which was the phone that he'd used that Saturday night.
The man that he spoke with wanted to know why he'd called on Saturday night.
The pastor couldn't figure out what the man was talking about.
Then the man said,....
"It rang and rang, but I didn't answer."
The pastor remembered the mishap and apologized for disturbing him, explaining that he'd intended to call his wife.
The man said, "That's okay. Let me tell you my story......
You see, I was planning to commit suicide on Saturday night,.....
but before I did,.....
I prayed, 'God if you're there, and you don't want me to do this, give me a sign now.'
At that point, my phone started to ring. I looked at the caller ID, and it said,.....
'Almighty God'......
I was afraid to answer!".......
The church that the pastor attends is called Almighty God Tabernacle....

It was about 10:00 PM, but his wife didn't answer the phone.
He thought it was odd that she didn't answer but decided to wrap up a few things and try again in a few minutes.
When he tried again, she answered right away......
He asked her why she hadn't answered before, and she said that it hadn't rung at their house.
They brushed it off as a fluke and went on their merry ways.
The following Monday, the pastor received a call at the church office,
which was the phone that he'd used that Saturday night.
The man that he spoke with wanted to know why he'd called on Saturday night.
The pastor couldn't figure out what the man was talking about.
Then the man said,....
"It rang and rang, but I didn't answer."
The pastor remembered the mishap and apologized for disturbing him, explaining that he'd intended to call his wife.
The man said, "That's okay. Let me tell you my story......
You see, I was planning to commit suicide on Saturday night,.....
but before I did,.....
I prayed, 'God if you're there, and you don't want me to do this, give me a sign now.'
At that point, my phone started to ring. I looked at the caller ID, and it said,.....
'Almighty God'......
I was afraid to answer!".......
The church that the pastor attends is called Almighty God Tabernacle....

Are you sitting on the fence?
If you are hesitating and sitting on the fence in regards to, "should I accept Christ, maybe I can do it later" those kind of thoughts. and then you see that the true church has suddenly gone,
....you won't be sitting on that fence much longer.
You will 'know' what happened because of what you have read and heard and listened to.
But....all is not lost...
even after the church has gone, and you suddenly know what is going to happen....you can still be saved.
The bible clearly states that there will be 140,000young male Jews, who will be proclaiming God's Word.
So you still have a chance of being with Jesus in heaven...
But why wait?...
Why not accept Christ now...and go with the church....
...You can't say you didn't know...can you?

Let me tell you about a church.....
LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT A CHURCH.......
They had some real problems, but in spite of all those, they still reached 1000's of people for Christ.
It was located in the wrong place.......
and besides this, most other people looked on the members with scorn and ridicule.
They did not even have a building in which to meet!!!!
It was poor and most of the members were also on the verge of poverty!
And.......none of the members were actually "trained" for the job!
The membership was small.....barely 120.
And the treasurer had just run off with the little money they did have!!!
lol...The chief leader of this church had a way of putting his foot in his mouth, he was constantly making people mad!
And, as in any church, there were those who "thought" differently to most, and wanted the others to change their thinking....several were leaving, because.....well.... just because......they were being persecuted!
The ONE thing this church had going for it was the power of Holy Spirit.
It was the church in Jerusalem described in the book of Acts.
Yet....with all it's problems....this church baptized 3000 people after it's first revival service!
God is good.....

Acts 10...Peter and the lowered sheet
You would not believe....
how many people tell me that we are not allowed to eat, prawns and lobsters and crabs, because in Acts 10, the sheet that comes down, most people miss-understand what it means...
and I am told it means “ that the Gentiles have been cleansed by God"
. And that was true, but we have to keep on reading... verse 10: Peter became hungry....
(verse 9) Now the next morning, as they were on their journey, and came closer to the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour: ..
10 and he became hungry, and desired to eat: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance;
11 and he beheld, the heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending, as it were a great sheet, let down by four corners upon the earth:
12 and there were all kinds of four-footed beasts and creeping things of the earth and birds of the heaven in it.
13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill and eat. He was told to kill and eat! So, whatever was in the lowered sheet, was allowed to be eaten( I would say crabs and prawns and lobsters were creeping things I checked, there are only a couple of species that swim.)
14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common and unclean.
( most commentaries explain this as it means peter can now also go to the gentiles and Cornelius is one, and he was told to call for Peter...
15 And a voice came unto him again the second time, What God has cleansed, do not you make common.
16 And this was done three times: and straight-way the vessel was received up into heaven.
then further down in verse 26b Peter speaking to the people there, “Stand up; I myself also am a man.”
27 And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many had come together:
28 and he said to them, You yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to join himself or come to one of another nation; and yet God showed me, that I should not call any man common or unclean:
29 wherefore also I came immediately, when I was sent for. I ask therefore with what intent ye sent for me?
Cornelius told him that 4 days ago, as he was praying, and a man in bright cloths stood before me and told me my prayers were answered and to send for you. So I did...and you came...
So. as you can see it means both, it emphatically states Peter was hungry....>br> and he was told to go...and eat...
