Why???

You know, I hear a lot of people say, as an excuse...."I don't go to church, because...." and then they give their reason for not going.

Quite often I also hear people say, "I don't go to church, because there are so many people there, who you just can't trust.
They don't act very Christian like..(I'm not sure "how" they expect people who go to church to act?)
I mean....people are people....right?

Then again, some people say...."Churches are full of hypocrites..."

I have nothing to say about all the above, all the above are probably true in some form or another.

But I do want to let you see what Jesus had to say, in Mathew chapter 13, verses 24 to 30....

and I quote: "Another parable set He before them, saying,

The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man that sowed good seed in his field:

25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares also among the wheat, and went away.

26 But when the blade sprang up and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

27 And the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst thou not sow good seed in thy field? whence then hath it tares?

28 And he said unto them, An enemy hath done this. And the servants say unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

29 But he saith, Nay; lest haply while ye gather up the tares, ye root up the wheat with them.

30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather up first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn". end quote.

So, you see, their excuses are nothing new.....Jesus knew this was going to happen...there will always be people in churches, who are known as "tares" not true Christians....they will act as if they are....but all they are doing is

giving the real Christians an uphill battle, and a bad name.

The enemy will do anything to gain more for his side, before he loses everything!
Blessings...

  1. My husband likes to say we are all hypocrites, if there aren't any hypoctrites in the church it is because they've all gone home and the church is empty. I prove how much of a failure I am at trying to do what I know is right with New Year's resolutions at the beginning of the year. My husband doesn't even bother because, as he says: "i'm a realist"....he knows it's a complete waste of time to even try. So true. Thank the Lord for HIS mercy and HIS grace on us sinners saved by His good works on our behalf. And for that we can join together in humble thanksgiving, even though we are unworthy of each other's companionship. :) Thanks for your recent visit to my blog...still trying to sort things out as I go...
