Revelation 22:17, "…Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely”

A story has been told about a pastor, who was preaching on Revelation 22:17.
It was a hot summer day and some of the people had trouble paying attention.

The heat was bothering the pastor also, so from time to time he would take a drink of water and after each sip he would say, “Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.”

In the congregation was a little boy, and being a typical little child, each time the preacher lifted the sparkling glass of water to his lips, the little boy’s thirst increased.
Something similar to when you see some one yawn, you feel the need to yawn too!

Finally the little man decided that if the pastor said once more, “Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely,” he would go to the front and take a drink for himself.

Just then the inviting words rang out once more!!

Very confident, the little fellow left his seat and walked up to the pulpit.
The congregation watched in astonishment as the youngster picked up the glass and took a deep swallow. Then with a kind “Thank you, pastor!” he returned to his seat.

The preacher was moved and used the incident to make a spiritual point.

He looked at the little fellow and said, "Just like this young man took me at my word, we must accept God’s invitation and drink of the Living Water by faith if we are to be saved.

People, many stay spiritually thirsty because they don’t listen, and I mean "listen" to the Lord’s clear and simple invitation. Today repent of your sin. Trust Jesus Christ as your Saviour. Drink from the Living Water and live!

Maybe you’re reading this and find yourself restless and thirsting for something more in life.
If so, respond to Jesus’ invitation found in John 7:37, “Come to Me and drink.” Go to Him, drink freely of His grace and forgiveness, and experience true joy, because unless one drinks now of the “Water of Life,” he will thirst forever!"

Bless you all
