FOOD FOR THOUGHT?

I don't know if you have ever read the story of the " blazing hot Furnace?"
Here goes:
Daniel ch 3:( paraphrased by me)
King Nebuchadnezzar made a gold statue ninety feet tall and nine feet wide and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon.
When the building was completed he sent out heralds. This is what they shouted out "People of all races and nations and languages, listen to the king's command! When you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes, and other instruments, bow to the ground to worship King Nebuchadnezzar's gold statue. Anyone who refuses to obey will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace."
Some people noticed that not all the people fell down and bowed to the statue and they couldn't wait to tell the king.

"Oh king..... there are some Jews--Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego--whom you have put in charge of the province of Babylon. They have defied Your Majesty by refusing to serve your gods or to worship the gold statue you have set up." So, all the people bowed down, and behold 3 men are still standing....in that large crowd, 3 men are standing!!!!
Couldn't possibly miss them could we?

So the king calls these 3 men and questions them as to why they do not obey the king?
He gives them another chance to do it, but they keep their stand and refuse to bow down no matter what the king threatens them with. So...the king is so angry, he orders the furnace to be heated 7 times more and he has the 3 men bound and they are thrown into the furnace.
(Will leave it there for now)

Now we go to Mathew 22...

Jesus speaking:
"The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son.
"And he sent out his slaves to call those who had been invited to the wedding feast, and they were unwilling to come.
"Again he sent out other slaves saying, 'Tell those who have been invited, "Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fattened livestock are all butchered and everything is ready; come to the wedding feast."'
"Then he said to his slaves, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.

'Go therefore to the main highways, and as many as you find there, invite to the wedding feast.'
"Those slaves went out into the streets and gathered together all they found, both evil and good; and the wedding hall was filled with dinner guests.
"But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw a man there who was not dressed in wedding clothes,

Now this is my thought!

Just as the three men stood out in the crowd at the blazing furnace,
and we may have to stand out, as time progresses, and stand up for our faith, could this be the other way around, and this man, at the dinner, who was not dressed in wedding clothes, could this be some one with lots of head knowledge about "God's word" but no heart knowledge, and that is not good enough and as we read the continuing story, he was thrown into outer darkness where there is gnashing of teeth!
I pray that God preserves us for the times to come and keeps us "Standing for Jesus"

( (Oh the 3 men were saved and did not go up in flames....An angel of the Lord walked in there with them, they came out and the king demanded that every one worshiped their God....our God!)
Bless you....
Yaddy
