The sheep and the goats

In Mathew 25 we read the story of the sheep and the goats.....

You know....until now, it had not occured to me....once the people are assembled and seperated into the sheep and the goats....

IT IS TOO LATE!

In verse 32, of Chapter 25 we read...." All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the aheep on His right and the goats on his left....

Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

'For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat;
I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink;
I was a stranger, and you invited me in.......
naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.'

"Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You,
or thirsty, and give You something to drink?

'And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You?

When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'

"The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'

"Then He will also say to those on His left, 'Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels,
for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink;

I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.'

"Then they themselves also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?'

"Then He will answer them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'"These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

Now I have often thought...."Who are "the least of these?" In the speaking to the sheep...He declares...'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'

So....BROTHERS ....that in my thoughts means other Christians...see...I had always thought they were unbelievers whom we needed to show the"Love of Christ" by helping them and feeding them...but the Bible also elsewhere tells us we are His brothers by adoption
so that then means we are to help and feed and look after our own believing brothers and sisters....
Hmmm...interesting yes?
Bless you...

  1. The early church sent money to Jerusalem...do you think it might mean to witness to Jews, and to forgive their ignorance if they lash out in terrible hatred of Jesus?

    I do not agree with America sending money and arms to Israel to be used for war. I think that God will stand up to defend Israel with a power and might that isn't of this world.

    I do think we are all to witness to Israel about the truth of who Jesus really is, even and especially if they hate us and do mean things to us for witnessing to them about the truth.

    Jesus said "I am the bread of life" and also to the woman at the well that "whoso drinks from the water He gives will never thirst", so we are to share true bread and true water. He also clothes us with His spiritual garments so we won't be naked (in 7 letters to 7 churches) so we also should provide the spiritual garments to Israel to cover her spiritual nakedness, no?

    That is what I thought, anyway. The New Testament tells us that we are to tell it to the Jews first, and also to the gentiles....I don't see that happening, do you?
