insect bites hurt
In Revelation ch 9 we read;
Then out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth, and power was given them,
as the scorpions of the earth have power.
They were told not to hurt the grass of the earth,
nor any green thing,
nor any tree,
but only the people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.
And they were not permitted to kill anyone, but to torment for five months;
and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings a person.
And in those days people will seek death and will not find it;
they will long to die, and death will flee from them.
In verse 10 we read this: “They have tails like scorpions, and stings; and in their tails is their power to hurt people for five months.” Now I know there is no comparising,and I have never been stung by a scorpion,
like the above says,
but when I got stung by wasps,that had built a nest on my deck, and that were only 3 stings, it was painful,Very painful
But above it says: “and power was given them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.”.
I couldn't help but think, as I sat rubbing vicks on my bites, how terribly awful that must be,
and it lasts for 5 months,
And only on those people who refuse to follow Jesus.....
Think people, you can avoid all that,
by accepting that Jesus, the son of God, took all your “bad things” and suffered with them in your place.
So, accept Him now........
you will miss out on all that pain and sufering, and besides there is more to come, much more. …
Jesus loves you!

Meeting God at every turn
I am sure some of your older readers have heard of the book and movie, “A man called Peter”
He was a very good preacher in the 50' His full name was Peter Marshall... but this is the story of his wive Catherine.
She writes: I was having fainting spells at church so, that week,
I had lots of tests done and the terrible news was that I had tuberculosis
I was to stay in bed,
was not allowed to get up,
unless it was a trip to the nearest bathroom, and a nurse came in to feed me and look after me.
So, there I lay, not being able to do anything!
We were 2 years into WW2, and help was not easy to come by,my mother helped out as much as she could.
So, month after month went by....
for a long 2 years.
On an especially low day, Peter would stand in the bedroom and turn a prophet,
“Cath'rine you know perfectly well all discouragement is of satan!”
I just wanted to throw a book at my scottish prophet, as he turned around and went to the church office.
Yet, I knew that Peter was right....
I started to delve into God's word. And in one of my discoveries I realised that Jesus was the same,
Yesterday...today... and forever...
So, Peter and I started praying for healing, for me.
I expected it to happen immediately,
but God....
It did not work the way I expected!
I had test after test, and nothing changed.
I was allowed up, for 3 or 4 hours,
some days,
but that was not much progress.
I prayed, “Here's your word about healing Lord, I believe it and claim it in faith, now prove it”
Later it hit me...
My almighty sovereign God does not have to “prove” anything to any of us,
Who are we to ask for that!
I Journalled, and one entry hit home....
I wrote,” For years I have yearned for some free time away from household duties...for a quiet time.
I never was able to have it....
till now.
A disturbing thought came to me....
It was as if the Lord was saying,
“Do you really want to be well?
Oh...one part of me wanted to be well,....
but another part wanted to hug the bed...
a disturbing thought!
There grew in me a desire for total honesty,
so I opened up and stood before the Lord naked of any pretence. ….
I confessed all my former childhood to now, sins.
I then prayed, “Lord, I have asked you to cleanse me, I claim Your healing right now, for my lungs,
I ask that it will be shown on my next tests..
They were made and came back...
no changes.
So, I went back to the Bible..
after reading many verses and writing them, the messages were piling up, and the Holy Spirit reveales this to us....
And he does not come automatically,
His coming to us and living in us is a gift the Father can give us.
He revealed to me a new step of faith...
I prayed, “Lord. From right now I promise to do whatever You tell me in order to get well,
as long as you make it clear to me what Your wishes are.
I will probably not want to do it,
or not like it,
but Lord, You will have to help me with that too”
I was trembling,....
I knew this was much more a commitment to the Lord, that anything before it.
All went well, I was in the sun much more,
enjoyed my family much more,
yet, when I went for another test,
nothing had changed.
What had I done wrong?
That night, I was finally able to pray,
“Lord, if You want me to be an invalid for the rest of my life, it is up to you, I place myself in Your hands”
The following night I had a vision of Jesus being right there in my room...
He said. “Go tell your mother...”
I wondered, tell her what?
But, in obedience to Him,
I went and told her, “Everything is going to be alright”,
The next morning I told her what had happened.
After my return to Washington, we awaited the next Xrays and for the first time there was a marked improvement, and steadily went better and better.
In six months the doctor pronounced me completely well...

The new Jerusalem
Revelation 21
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, having the glory of God: her light was like unto a stone most precious, as it were a jasper stone, clear as crystal: having a wall great and high; having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: on the east were three gates; and on the north three gates; and on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. And he that spake with me had for a measure a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
And the city is foursquare, and the length thereof is as great as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs:( that is 1.500miles) the length and the breadth and the height thereof are equal. It is a cube. ( in a straight line that would be from Sydney to the Gold Coast, Inland approx to Mt-Isa) So the height is the same as the width and length, that is some cube.
And he measured the wall thereof, a hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. ( that is the thickness of the walls, 65.8 mtres) And the building of the wall thereof was jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto pure glass.
The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the several gates was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God the Almighty, and the Lamb, are the temple thereof.
And the city hath no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine upon it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the lamp thereof is the Lamb.
And the nations shall walk amidst the light thereof: and the kings of the earth bring their glory into it. And the gates thereof shall in no wise be shut by day (for there shall be no night there): and they shall bring the glory and the honour of the nations into it: and there shall in no wise enter into it anything unclean, that is, only those who truly followed Jesus, and accepted that He died on the cross or them, can enter in.

You Can’t Have a Genuine Revival With False Doctrine Raging!
I am a Rapture watcher, and many of you are as well! We have been eagerly awaiting a trumpet and a shout (I Thess. 4) for years and even decades. We have grown tired of wars and rumors of wars; of stories in the news that are heartbreakers; of personal betrayal; of relationships that primarily hurt or fail.
For years I have believed that the Rapture of believers is imminent. The Rapture is signless and will be unannounced, and the Bible suggests it could happen at any minute or imminently. No clearly prophesied event must transpire prior to the Rapture.
A Billion Souls to be Saved Soon?
And yet I hear a dozen evangelists stating that we are on the verge of a great revival. One self-proclaimed prophet says that a billion souls will come to faith in the coming weeks and months. If my Rapture is imminent, how can there be an imminent revival?
Which is it?
A gentleman wrote me recently stating, “Jan, you should be hearing the prophetic words for today about a period of coming peace and a worldwide revival. It is about to dawn. The end is not yet! Instead, prepare for your part in the glorious coming revival, not the Rapture.”
Yes, A Revival Is Coming!
The Bible does talk about a coming revival. The question concerns its timing. Is it in the coming days, or is it after the Rapture when the “left behind” world realizes they should have listened to believers like you and me, get a second chance, and multitudes come to faith?
Once the church is gone, God employs supernatural efforts to proclaim the gospel one final time through the 144,000 evangelists. These 144,000 Jews (Rev. 7:4) are “sealed,” which means they have the special protection of God. They are kept safe from the divine judgments and from the wrath of the Antichrist. They can freely perform their mission during the seven-year Tribulation, or “time of Jacob’s trouble.”
On top of that, there are Two Witnesses in Revelation who will have miraculous powers to accompany their message (Revelation 11:6), and no one will be able to stop them in their work of evangelization! These men will be true prophets, unlike so many of today’s self-proclaimed prophets, speaking by divine revelation (Revelation 11). Their witness will be so effective that the Antichrist will have them killed, but they will be resurrected.br>
Additionally, according to Revelation 14:6-7, an angel during the Tribulation will proclaim an “everlasting gospel” to every nation, tribe, language, and people. This message urges humanity to fear, glorify, and worship God because the hour of His judgment has arrived.
>br> All of these supernatural happenings result in the greatest revival in history, but it is not in the Church Age! It is post-Rapture.
Then What Is the Falling Away?
So, what does the Bible say about the spiritual temperature in the last days? It’s not a pretty picture. It describes a great “falling away” (II Thess. 2:3), not a revival.
In Luke 18:8 we read that when the Son of Man comes, will he find any faith on the earth?
In the classic passage written to the church—II Timothy 3—we read that there will only be a “form of godliness” (II Timothy 3:5) that will be prominent in the last days.
The Bible warns about a departure from the faith in I Timothy 4:1-5. Again, that is not the language of a revival. And I don’t think the wolves among the flock (Acts 20:29), spoken of by Paul, are spreading revival.br>
It says in II Timothy 4 that in the last days, people won’t even endure sound doctrine. You can’t have a genuine revival with false doctrine raging.
God Will Pour Out His Spirit in the Church Age
And yet it says in Acts 2:15-18 that in the last days, God will pour out his spirit on all flesh. There will be gospel-preaching churches and evangelists in these last days. Many of them will be effective. The new media will spread this gospel to the ends of the earth in the Church Age, and many will respond—but nothing like the outpouring of the gospel during the Tribulation.
Could we say there is a genuine outpouring of God’s spirit in the last days, but the predicted revival happens when believers are gone, and God does it supernaturally? And the Bible talks more about end-time persecution in our day than it does revival.
Perhaps Today!
But don’t lose heart, and please share the gospel while there is still time so those you love can escape the coming Tribulation. And remember, the biblical theme for the coming Rapture is “perhaps today.” Any minute or imminent. Nothing must precede it.

Many Christians love to use Corrie ten Boom as the ultimate example of forgiving the enemy.
And yes - her forgiveness was powerful.
But let me remind you of something.
The most Christian thing Corrie did was not forgiving a Nazi guard after the war -
the most Christian thing she did was refusing to stay silent while Jews were being hunted.
She hid them.
She protected them.
She risked everything.
She did not sit on the sidelines
....- she acted.
She was a Ruth -
“Your people shall be my people.”
She attached herself to the Jewish people in their darkest hour -
not when it was convenient.
Today we are witnessing an unprecedented wave of antisemitism.
Loud hatred.
Polished hatred.
Academic hatred.
Even some self-proclaimed conservative influencers fanning the flames.
Let me be very clear -
You will never provoke Israel to jealousy through hatred.
You will never draw Jewish hearts toward the Messiah through violence.
You will never reflect Jesus by attacking His own people.
The apostle Paul spoke about provoking Israel to jealousy -
but jealousy comes from love,
from holiness,
from walking in truth -
not from slander and conspiracy theories.
Silence in a time like this is not wisdom.... - it is surrender.
If we claim to follow the Jewish Messiah - then we must not be ashamed of the Jewish people.
This is not the hour to retreat
- it is the hour to stand.
